Re: Execution Schedule

I used to live right next the Walls Unit. That's where they execute the inmates in Texas. I was around for Karla Faye Tucker's execution and Gary Graham's execution (I left town for that one). Karla Faye's execution was more like a frat party than anything else. People were getting drunk, sitting ou...

I saw on CNN today an interview with a juror, and the wife's shady past was brought into question. First of all, I'm not a violent person and I don't hit. But as a woman, I would fully expect that if I were to hit a man, then I would be hit back. Rape isn't about sex. It's about violence and control.

Prostitutes can be raped. Married women can be raped. Drunk women can be raped.

And even though I say women, it can happen to anyone, regardless of sex.

People have used religion as an excuse for centuries to validate crimes against humanity. Most religious warfare, in my opinion, is based on power, and they just USE religion as an excuse. It's an easy out - "This person offends my God. It is better that he and his people should die than live a...

Just because the history happens to be racist does not mean that because I know it, I believe it.

Like it or not, that's the history, and it still has lingering effects today.

Re: Hollywood discriminates against dark Latinos

There was (is?) a caste system in the Americas. When the Conquistadors came to the Americas, they had children with the native women. The children, obviously, were of a lighter skin color than the natives. Hence, the lighter skinned children were associated with power (the Europeans). The lighter yo...
