Sotel 13 never had a stoner gang affiliate like some varrios, but there were a lot of casual Sotel affiliates like these guys:

Re: How many LA gang-Related murder have been white?
according to this study about 20% of gang related homicide victims in L.A. and 19% in Long Beach are non-Hispanic whites. You have to remember that whites often belong to latino gangs. The media portrays white gangs as skinheads and AB types which makes white gangs seem like a phantom that nobody ta...

Re: gang related music before gangsta rap
great posts, Sentenza. I hadn't even considered old school organized crime having their own music styles. That's wild. IMO pure gangsta music is where the artist/band has both gang affiliations AND sings/raps/talks about gang related themes. In L.A. before gangsta rap broke out, every race had their...

Heavy Metal bands in the late 70's and 80's often emulated outlaw biker in dress but were rarely affiliated with M.C.'s.

Re: gang related music before gangsta rap
here's Oi! music. A style of punk rock from the early 80's, that was based off working class skins, punks and hooligans. Oi! bands generally dressed in skinhead. street punk or hooligan style and sung about running from cops, killing judges, football fights, riots, etc. This scene was more about wor...

Suicidal Tendencies, a punk/hardcore/thrash band that had a cholo image but rarely sung about gang specific themes. there were several Suicidal protégé bands at the time like No Mercy, Neighborhood Watch. gang related music before gangsta rap
Gang themed music or gangster/gangbanger/hoodlum themed bands/artists that came before gangsta rap.
here's something I dug up:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpXDXKilKjo
"Corner boy" was the Philly term for a homeboy/homie back in the day. "gang warring" was the term for gangbanging.
