also, in one of the articles invincible posted, they mentioned greenpoint bordering bed-sty, which is really not true. i lived in willamsberg which is right next to greenpoint, and for the most part greenpoint is pretty white, with some hispanics. alot of immigrants from poland, russia, and easter europe live there, and twords willamsbers there are more italians and more hispanics. the only blacks that are really around there are from the projects and from bushwick. also willamsberg borders bushwick and greenpoint is more north. you have to pass willamsberg to get there. i think fort greene and east new york are pretty close to bed-stuy as well, but i don't really know.

I think you should look at the pictures or videos of these guys because it sounds like some of you have really got the wrong idea. I've never seen or met one in person but they really don't look like much. It is my understanding that they have set up chapters in different areas of the country and overseas. They basically have safety patrols that go through neighborhoods on foot. They are kind of like a neighborhood watch group. They were founded in New York and originally had several minorities and they weren't supposed to have weapons so basically they are going against their own beliefs. I read that they made citizens arrests and that they were strongly criticized as being vigilantes. Their leader Curtis Sliwa is an annoying talk radio host who accussed John Gotti Jr. of having him shot because of comments he made on the air.

I just don't see these guys as any kind of organization that gets respect from gang members or hard core criminals but I may be wrong.
