I’ve seen long debates and articles about where West LA begins on forums. Manly said it’s La Cienega and I tend to agree. you're right, West L.A. is everything WEST of all those neighborhoods you mentioned. Those areas are considered West Adams, Midtown/Mid City, and Baldwin Hills, although they are located on the Westside of L.A., but technically, they're not West L.A. Just PART of L.A.'s Westside.
