Avalons are not weak. They may have less members then a couple years back but, they are on more of the downlow.

A lot of the Black gangs are more on the down low today cuz of all the pressure; LAPD, Injunctions, More Rivals, Mexican gangs, etc.

That was shot in 1988, and the person you are talking about is Rat Capone from 88 Avalon Gardens. He is serving life in prison right now.

they were one of the first sets to create their own neighborhood based set, and not be part of the Westside, Eastside, Compton crip alliance. But there were a few who did that around 1972, there was Avalon Gardens, 43 Tray Crips (not sure if they were "Gangster" then) and the Harlems. Who was the very first set????? that's debatable, even among the people who were there. crazy.

i beleive the Kitchen Crips were also one of the very first break-away sets on the East Side of SC LA.



I recall seeing a map from 1972 or 73 appx

it still had the Slausons, Business, Rebel Rousers

and the East Side Crips, West Side Crips, Inglewood Crips, Compton Crips

the only break away sets I remember was Kitchen and 104th St Crips (i doubt there around anymore

it also had the Denver Lane Boys, Bishops, Bounty Hunters ect which pre-date the Crips
