It is told that what is now Swans hood is where Raymond Washington started the East Side Crips,in or around Freemont High School used to be their stomping grounds.76 and Wadsworth is where Raymond Washington stayed at,how did the early crips lose this hood to Swans was this an early situation during the late 70s and early 80s.Or did the Coast lose their hood during the time F13 cliqued up with the Swans. The 76 have lost some ground when they were riffing with F13

It is interesting how 76th Street, where Raymond Washington started the Crips, became all Swans. But maybe the Swans were not always the enemy of the Crips back in the early 1970s.

I know for a fact, a swans moved on Raymond street in the middle 70s. Plus 79 st Swans is right down the street. Alot of the first generation crips Little brothers didn't follow their foot steps. Swans never liked the Crips. Swans fought for alot of that area.

I dont think MS stood for Mad Swan Blood in the early 1970s. Too bad that Dexter Elvis is not around. Heard from so many sources that the MS may have stood for Main Street Swans, or something close to it. And because they didn't get along with the Crips at some point, they changed the meaning of MS so they would not be associated with the Main Street Crips. Not sure though.

Originally, MSS, & MSB stood for Main Street Swans and Main Street Swans Blood and/or Main Street Bloods. They considered themselves West Side Swans also. The East Side Swans or ESS Were the Mad Swans. Subtlety, WS Swans felt they had more of a say so and better than the ESS because they were the originals and didn't have a Crip past. Don't get me wrong, not all felt that way. But there was those. In my opinion the ESS Were more front lining than the WS MSB or MSS. Various reasons. They had to prove themselves, plus you had different Crip sets trying revert them or that that area back to Crip hood. But ESS stood their ground. In the early 80s is when The ESS started pushing MSB Mad Swans Blood. And everybody else got on board. This move brought MSB together as one.
