It's simple logic really. Crips begin in Los Angeles with a 4 year head start on consolidation.

the blood alliance didn't take consolidating their gangs into a alliance until approx 1974.

Brims, Piru's, and Bloods, really focused on their immediate neighborhood until they were faced with confront being over run by the quickly expanding Crips who have a expansionist attitude.

Other cities and states had a much more fair approach to Crips and Bloods.
