Just downloaded Blue Rage, Black Redemption a few days ago. First e book i've ever bought.
Tookie wrote about him doing nightly raids on the Pirus in Compton in the mid 70s and the Pirus being masters of the sneak attack.
Was it really common to have shootouts in the 70s or was Tookie exaggerating ?
How bad/common was the gun play in the 1970s ?

there was way less gang members but the one active was gunin thing is before crack it was mostly 22 like og frog said and less lethal weapon than the tech nine uzi ak of the crack era

things people never mention not a single og not a single interviewer ever mention in those days compton was feared because the grandees did rob a military camp and had m1 rifle possible that turtle 2 m1 rifle came from that era
