Don't be mislead brotha fromsantabarbara...this lil fakesta is tryna steer you wrong. You were looking at the Imperial Gardens on Imperial...you won't see any 5-Lines on Imperial "hangin out"....you have been given false information.dillinger wrote:those are the 5lines that u see but there b other line members ova there toofromsantabarbamovedtomich wrote:when your driving on imperial past the gardens what line are the hunters that u can see from the road? or are those the lot boys
I wasn't going to entertain the question initially because pointing out who hangs where and who you might see ain't somethin I am into doing...just rest assured that it ain't Bounty Huntas you were seein.
Re: Bounty Hunter Bloods of Watts
Mr Tatta i have a question for you i heard that in a year that the city was going to tear down the Nickerson or tear down majority of it and put low income houses over there is this true?Tatta wrote:Don't be mislead brotha fromsantabarbara...this lil fakesta is tryna steer you wrong. Ironic you should ask me that Ace. I just heard something similar in passing. I am looking into this to figure out if it is just a rumor or a fact. I know that part of the County's empowerment plans were to get rid of a couple Housing Projects but hadn't heard much more in the way of details. There was some speculation about this after the raids but again, I hadn't heard anything substantial to support it. I will get back at you when I get more solid details this week, hopefully Monday.
Re: Bounty Hunter Bloods of Watts
ok cool homie sounds good to me but if you want to know where i read it at i read it in the La Sentinel March25-31 issue it is a big write up in there about it but you know how the paper like to twist Sh%t up so that is why i ask you.Tatta wrote:Ironic you should ask me that Ace. I have never heard of the imperial Gardens, and I am almost positive it was the nickerson gardens because if it wasnt then what other blood set lives in the projects right north of imperial. And I didnt mean I saw them on imperial, I meant to say i could see them from imperial inside the projects. Could some clear this up for me. tatta?

Re: Bounty Hunter Bloods of Watts
cause I thought the NIckerson Gardens were from like 108th to imperial or somethin unless the projects that are right north of imperial are connected with the nickers and are called imperial gardens. BUt other than that Im always that was the NIckerson Gardens and thats what my uncle told me and he lives round that area
Re: Bounty Hunter Bloods of Watts
I have been amazed at all the conversation about the hood I once was in love with (Nickerson Gardens) the hood that I laid my life on the line for, the hood I lost countless years of freedom for, the hood that has claimed the lives of far too many by way of death, drugs and incarceration.
All this misinformation about the bricks like Rene starting the Lot Boys and so on, a Crip has never and I do mean NEVER started anything in Nickerson but his car as he tried to get the hell out of there. Know your history before you print lies, Rene was from the other side!! Remeber the fight of the century with him and Coosie at Jordan High?
I am an origianl Lot Boy Hustler who will dispute this lie. I am from the second generation of Bounty Hunters who wore my colors with respect, honor and willingness to defend our turf.
I had an opportunity to witness Ray Boyce, The Barker Brothers, Jr. Thomas, Blade, Big Hank and many more come from the shoulders and go toe to toe.
I remember the original Huncho from Grape Street (Arthur Day) and Raymond Washington, Barefoot Pookie, Anthony Blaylock, Billy Holt and the rest of the brothers who would not kill another brother especially in front of their children or mother.
I don't know how these modern day cowards who are pumped up by the high tech studio gangsters even claim many of the hoods today, for they are killing the very ones in their own hood who fought day and night to make it possible for them to even be in the hood they claim or should I say disrespect.
Nickerson Gardens use to be one big family and now like every other hood across America this new generation is running wild and living in fear thinking that a Philly Blunt and a Nine is power, remember once you are in prison you cannot do a drive by. You will not be able to run. You will not even know the homies who have been down twenty plus years, you know the ones you are making it virtually impossible to get a release date.
In the pen there is always someone a little harder than you and believe me they are waiting on you......gangsta....thug....gangsta
Bounty Hunters have been in existance since this way out shit begun and today many decades later they are still on the scene, they are nothing like yesteryear and will never be because far too many of my homies that I banged with, laugh with, partied with, fought with, lived with, loved with, etc......are no longer here due to death or life in prison.
Just felt like writing stumbled on this site tonight and read some BS bout the hood I love.

Re: Bounty Hunter Bloods of Watts
this is not how the Bounty Hunters evolved, once again someone spitting misinformation about our hood, Rene was not from the Nickerson Gardens and the Lot Boys was not started by him and they were around way before the eighties
Re: Bounty Hunter Bloods of Watts
Its spelled Bounty Hunterswattscrackin wrote:The BountyHunters evolved in 1969, when one day O.G. Gary Barker, was siting at home watching an old cowboy movie. When the movie ended, Barker went outside and wrote Bountyhunter on the sides of an old 1957 Chevy bomb. The youths adopted the name and there evolved the Nickerson Garden BountyHunters. Although before the name BountyHunter came into existence the majority of the older youths called themselves Teeny Bompers. Divisions within the Bountyhunters came about in the early 1980's when Renee McGowen moved into the neighborhood and started the Lot Boys. While the Bountyhunters were primarily Hoodlums/thugs/gangbangers, etc, the Lot Boys under Renee were hustlers and drug dealers. The money that the Lot boys were making in the illegal drug trade fostered jealousy and envy between the Bountyhunters and as a result conflicts erupted between the two. As the years passed, more divisions within the Bountyhunter gang came about. Splinter Bountyhunter cliques evolved; Bellhaven Street Bountyhunters; Kill Quad; Cool five; Funky Six; Five Line Snipes; Gangsta Watts; Brazy Brew; Foe Line BH; Ase Line BH; Duse Line BH; Bountyhunter Lot; Block Boy BH; 108th BH.
Bow Low #1 BH
HERE IS ANOTHER EXPLANATION BY LIL JOE FROM BHB
Bounty Hunter was started by the "Triple O.G.’s" like Ray Boyce, Junior Thomas, Gary & Joe Barker, Neal, Terry Moses, Michael Derough (Blade), Michael Ford, Marvin, and many more. Before becoming "Huntas", or Bloods, we were known as "Green Jackets." At that time, all of the housing projects in Watts, i.e. Jordan Dows, Imperial Courts, Nickerson Gardens, etc., were one gang.
When Raymond Washington, who was originally from the Jordan Downs, came out with the "Crips." Some of the older homeboys decided to break off from the rest of the people and came up with the "Bounty Hunters." They were going to name the ‘hood the "Head Hunters." It is believed that Gary Barker came out with the name "Bounty Hunter" back when a weekly television western series was called "The Bounty Hunter." That show is believed to have been the inspiration behind the name of our ‘hood.
We became Bloods because of ongoing conflicts that we had with people from the Jordan Downs and the Imperial Courts, both of which had turned into Crips. Initially, these two Crip neighborhoods tried to force our ‘hood, the Nickerson Gardens, to turn Crip too.
Bounty Hunters have demonstrated a notorious history of rebellion and serious confrontation with the police. Members were and still are raised to be fearless and survive. Bounty Hunters and Grape Street Crips, whether fools dig it or not, have had in effect a secure and genuine TRUCE since 1991. Bounty Hunters no longer "bang", we do, however, protect ourselves and our neighborhoods. Deaths on both sides, among Bounty Hunters and Grape Streets, have taken place in the history of Bounty Hunters.
The average age of a gang member is 12-13, just entering middle school. So too was this the age category of those that originated our ‘hood. At this age level, one is hardly experiences, rational, mature, or reflective. The life journey of boys at this age centers around "fun", I.e. partying, getting high, staying out all night, chasing females, gambling, committing crimes, looking for trouble, etc.
No One is forced to bang. Bounty Hunters who have passed as a result of banging are the victim of their own decisions. When you play the game; you get what the game dishes out. You win some and you lose some.
THAT stuff KINDA INTERESTING THEY SAID RAYMOND WASHINGTON WUZ FROM THE JORDAN DOWNS
ANYWAY I TOLD LIL HELL FROM BOUNTY HUNTAZ TO JOIN THIS FORUM SO MAYBE HE CAN COME ON AND TELL the REAL
Re: Bounty Hunter Bloods of Watts
I just stumbled onto this site last night and I have been amazed, annoyed and tickled to death after reading many of these post about the infamous Bounty Hunters, the set that has intrigued many for more than three decades. I am an original BH from the second generation and I have a head full of history which proves a lot of these posts to be inaccurate and straight out lies.
The Gang Truce in 1992 was not a joke as Tatta posted. It was not done to get anyone into a political office, in fact many of the people who write about the truce and take credit for this historical event wasn't even there.
I attended every meeting and I took that first walk throught the Nickerson stepping out on faith. Many of these cats who are now typing these messages didn't start banging until after the peace treaty anyway.
This treaty was prompted by the senseless murder of a little girl in the Imperial Courts Housing Projects. The motive behind the truce was to save a life, that's all, to save a life, maybe even yours.
Banging has made others rich, it has made us hate ourselves and everything our families have fought for. OG's fought and loved one another later, today's bangers are scared to fight, the kill the OG's and run like hell, the kill the innocent including babies and senior citizens and surrender to the police without a fight.
There are no bangers in Los Angeles today, bangers had respect, these chumps today respect no one not even themselves. Having your pants hanging off of your ass showing your swapmeet boxers don't make you a banger. Disrespecting your mother in public or calling women bitches don't make you harder. How many times have you used the word nigger today? Brothers of the past didn't use these words nor treat their own like slaves.
Its easy to learn about my hood but my question is what are you doing to save your own hood. I just lost two lifelong friends in the Nickerson while two others are fighting for their life in the hospital, what's fly about that.
My relative just got shot Saturday night and is now fighting for his life and the coldest part about it is they were all shot by someone claiming the same set they were from so when I read these BS ass post from new age bangers with a keyboard I get pissed off see the lies they continue to pass onto the world. Today bangers are nothing more than Ku Klux Klans without the hood doing all of their work for free.

Re: Bounty Hunter Bloods of Watts
damn thats some deep opinions right there. I agree with all of them too.
Re: Bounty Hunter Bloods of Watts
Whether it is true or isn't true that is the history as told by Big Bow Low1. It ain't about "misinformation"...these are both similar stories that have been told to all of us younger BH through time. Older niggas always seem to have different versions...nobody claimed what you read was gospel my brotha...and the niggas tellin the "stories" are also "OG" Bounty Hunters.Black Ron wrote:this is not how the Bounty Hunters evolved, once again someone spitting misinformation about our hood, Rene was not from the Nickerson Gardens and the Lot Boys was not started by him and they were around way before the eighties
The second portion was told to me by Lil Joe (Valentine)...surely you know both names big homie.
Re: Bounty Hunter Bloods of Watts
I will address the "Treaty" but I will keep it respectful towards you for being who you are big homie and in ALL due respect the treaty was not all the media cracked it up to be.
Okay, niggas got along and ceased fire, I won't steal the glory from that and that in itself was truly amazing. However, when all the media hype died down where did all the hi-profile individuals go bruh? Where did all their money go? Where it went is a mystery...it sure as hell didn't stay in Watts.
Where are all the educational and vocational programs that they promised us? They certainly ain't in Watts. Mere pipe dreams...what did we get out of the deal once the cameras were off big homie? I am open to being corrected if I am wrong.
Do Bounty Hunters still NOT have issues with selected Grapes? Is this what you are telling me? I beg to differ homie.....Yea, there is "peace" but it ain't the Utopia folks claim it to be.
I can tell you also that I am aware of the "programs" that are still standing. The "AmerIcan" program is a joke...might just be a personal opinion to me but I know that others see it for what it is just like me. It was nothing more than a money pit for POLITICIANS. They took those funds OUT OF WATTS and placed them in a Board of Directors that printed pamphlets and what not to send to niggas in the pen. How many cats on the streets actually "graduated" and now have lucrative careers as a result? I would say that there are a handful of cats that "graduated" and no longer bang but they, like the money and program itself, vacated Watts.
There are a few brothas that are dedicated to our community. Aqeela Sherrils still does his thang, despite his own personal tragedies and even HIS program is short on funding.
How did officials, the SAME officials that swore to us that they would help us "keep the peace" come through on their promises? I am truly open to hearing something I may have missed big homie. I am searching for answers on a daily basis to that question so enlighten me with something I have failed to see. I have a tendency to get on my soap box and only see what I want to see, I can admit that, so please slip me some knowledge.
The only funds that went into Watts in recent times were the millions spent to raid the projects. Those very dollars set aside for "community empowerment" went towards busting in doors and scaring our elders and children in the wee hours of the morning.
I am all for change and positivity...sometimes I fail to see the forest for the trees but I am usually pretty good at seeing things for what they truly are.
Again, take no disrespect to my words big homie, I seek only to give my point of view in exchange for yours.

this is a very interesting thread. it good to see how real homies telling the real history like it is

I don't know who you are bro, but I do know Joe V. I'm saying all of this to say that information and history has been distorted and I don't give a damn who told you. I am from the second generation of Bounty Hunters and I deal with facts and experiences, something you younger cats don't take heed to. Re: Bounty Hunter Bloods of Watts
This is a Watts discussion and two Hunters at that, so just allow me a few seconds right quick and then let me back up..
I agree with Tatta as far as older homies having similar stories on the history of their respective hoods, but not the same story. Depending what homies you talk to in my community they will all give different but very similar accounts regarding the history and specific incidents regarding the turf. If two or more people say they were there, or heard it from the horses mouth, the stories will continue to be falsely told or miscued.
Also, I am feeling you about taking the money out of Watts and spending it to raid the projects. It's universal homie, look how the United States did Iraq.
In time, if you haven't already, you will learn about the trickory and devilish ways of the man, as well as how fast our own brothers will sell his soul over a phony promise, or money flashed in his face.
No matter who you talk to, white, black, brown, yellow, or red, everyone will tell you the samething, it starts in the mirror. One must be willing to sacrifice his own hatred to spare the life of a enemy or unborn child. Peace

I am telling you that Joe V. and Bow Low are the providers of the historical recantations you read earlier in this thread. I would be very happy to show you the very papers that bear their signatures on them. The only think Joe gave me was his version of the History, Bow Low has given me his version of the history as well as many other pieces of relative information, which I would happily share with you privately.
I wasn't in the streets in 1992, I was doing time already...I am going to hit you up via pm and better introduce myself...

In my view, yes, they are copy cats. I know many of my Big Homies left cali to do they thang elsewhere and spread the BH fever but by no-means is that any different in my opinion. I got into many heated debates with homies about this. We had a grip of niggas from BHB go to Denver to get they serve on...in order to get local kids to assist them they jumped lil kids and teens in. They used them and dipped. Now there is a set in Denver that don't get the fact that they were used as pawns to make my hood $$. Same thang in NY and Chicago and Detroit and anyhwere else we left that mark. There may actually be a few OG's from BHB left in these cities...but they originally went to where they went to either make ends or because it got too hot out here for them. They never left tryna make a clone gang. True BHB's or true niggas from any set for that matter are loyal to one spot and one spot only....headquarters; not some small town, big city back east, or farm region in nebraska.
If you ain't from where it originated then you are a copy cat set. Period.
Whether folks in other areas put it down or not is on them and I can't speak on what they do. I can tell you they are copy-cats and gets no props from me.
Why someone would rep something that doesnt rep them amazes me,so I feel you tat.
It seems like the only mobs that truely branch out of state are chicago originated,I have yet to see an LA gang member honor an out of state person who reps thier gang as a member.

Re: Bounty Hunter Bloods of Watts
I have to take what I said before about only chi town based gangs heavily recruit out of state. It seems certain sets of LA gangs do branch out and honor and respect the out of state members, and some gangsor some individual members dont. Most LA gangs have a loose strutcure, based around thier specific neighborhood with 'OGs' in black gangs and 'veteranos' in latino gangs getting respect, but they dont nessecirily call shots for the gang.So really there is no one person in most LA gangs that is the honered leader for a whole gang.Am I correct about most LA gangs?

Re: Bounty Hunter Bloods of Watts
good post homiewattscrackin wrote:The BountyHunters evolved in 1969, when one day O.G.

THAT SHIT KINDA INTERESTING THEY SAID RAYMOND WASHINGTON WUZ FROM THE JORDAN DOWNS
ANYWAY I TOLD LIL HELL FROM BOUNTY HUNTAZ TO JOIN THIS FORUM SO MAYBE HE CAN COME ON AND TELL the REAL
