I remember some of the Teen Angel magazine's from the mid 80's had quite a few pictures of black 18st cholos.Also i remember this one black dude in Teen Angel i think his name was Black Bird and he was a BLACK CHOLO from TEMPLE STREET.Maybe Big Dusty might know info about the Temple St. Also back in 1996 somebody hit up a bunch of "EIGHTEEN ST PRIMOS" on some of the walls in Fresno.

I personaly dont see nothing wrong with Brotha's joining Mexican gangs and vice versa.

The only problem I do have with it is that people who do that seem to be going the identity crisses. If you black and gonna be a sureno you dont have to act Mexican because when you go to the pen (and your gonna go) things will change.

I remember when I was younger before I got put on the hood. I was real cool with Mid City Stoners and had debated joining there gang I had new a couple of Blacks from there and they didn't come off to me as Cholo's they were just niggaz from MCS.

But there is alot of racial tension in LA right now would be difficult for Blacks in Mexican based gangs and vice vers. However there two Mexicans from my hood and they are some of the most active homies I got.

I know this one dude who was from Santa Monica 13 in the 90's he said they had a hand full of Blacks back then.........

it seems to be that most gangs in the rampart or mid city areas had a few black members. i know there was a few black peeps in DFS. i met a black dude from temple and even a black dude in MS. i never met a latino in a black gang though, Im sure there is, but the only time i saw was on t.v, they were interviewing some athen park bloods and there was a chicano in the background wairng red and he had some long as braids, LOL

Not totally true, but it does seem like that. I know of several MCS/MCLC that are black. Some HPS 5thAve are black. Of course 18st, and the rest of the gangs in the LOS. But I ran across a black dude in SouthSide Whittier. That's a good 30 miles away from the heart of the LOS.

The only black dudes in crip or blood gangs I ever ran across were like half/black-half/latino. There are some, not too many. Some Cubanos, Puerto Riquenos who look black were in black gangs.
