Rockwood started out as a football team. As far as who started it, i don't know. I knew alot of the cats from RSL in the NorthEast area, as well as the ones from the Belmont area.

Alot of vatos from wsRSL used to be taggers, writters, muralist etc. Most of the heads from STN,213,K2S, and TAC were from RW or affiliated with them. For a while they were clicked up with XV3 and in the NELAs some were kicking it with MP13. Dont ask for any names cuz I aint going down that road or blowing up anyones spot who used to bang/write. From what i remember, RSL and 18 were tight. I don't really know what happened between the two but they went at it, back and forth.

The cats (RSL) from my block were more concentrated on Avenues. They weren't sweatin about 18 at all, they weren't sweating about anyone. 18 had no muscle in that area so it was all Avenues... and the Av's were in the hundreds.. the Rockwoods from the NE were less than 20. Every single Rockwood i've met back in the day whether they were from the Belmont area or the Northeast, they were all down for their shit.

6th and Union (Still there and expanded and basically took over most of 18 clcls hood (3rd and Witmer, 3rd and Union etc)
Westmorland and 1st ( Still there and always been small)
Earth Dogs (Juanita and Melrose area, not really around)
NELA (Always been small and spread out)

I was over there right now. I went down 3rd from the courthouse all the way to reno then went back on rampart to catch the freeway.. I saw Rockwood hit ups, Temple St, MS 13 RS?, 18th st. I seen a dude near 3rd and witmer with a Tattoo on his neck. I

RSL was deep for a while in NELA, the dude who was smashing the most was Cartoon, but they had quite a few homie on that side: Claxx,Lipps,Cheech,Mone,Art,Snoopy,Nasty,Soda Pop,Ant that used to give the A's some compo back in the day.

TAG ALL CITY was always associated with RSL. My homies from the crew stayed off of 8th and vermont. I had to be careful when i was tagging in NELA or belmont area if folks would ask me where i was from. i really didnt trip because i was black and posed no real threat. this was back in the late 80s and early early 90s.

I dont think any of the other OG members of TAC ever banged like LASER, REGAL or ROM. I havent talked to those dudes since 92 or 93.

Your right they had nothing to do wsRSL when they started. As a matter of fact they didn't even know there was a Rockwood in west LA but when they found out they cliqued up and thats where the "ES" in ESRW came from but ESRW was short lived cuz GL swallowed em up. All this can be confirmred by my homie who was in ESRW.

I know RSL had a small but sick with it crew in NELA, does anyone know how they started in NELA? I heard Claxx brought it down there but not sure. Does anyone have any info on how they got there? Small but man for man they had to be one of the toughest in the area.

There is a separate string about East Side Rockwoodin East LA that you can visit, but I was always under the impression that W/S and E/S were not connected or had any shared history.

this is how the pedo actually went down appx 1987

a fat but very well liked hyna from es Rockwood - L****, was seeing this fatter vato from Ricardo Street Locos

both THE LOTT 13 & es RSL were kicking it on east Rockwood, which is a lil street one block down from City Terrace park; my homeboy P***** from es RW started snapping on this big fat vato from Ricardo St

they got into ... P***** wanted to go heads up - one on one

the vato from Ricardo st ~ BH refused, maybe he thought he would get jumped...i dont know, but he jumped in his ranfla and peeled out like a bat outta hell

1 hour back later he came back with about 7 carloads of vatos from Big Hazard ~ Ricardo St Locos

and the rest as they say ... is history
