i was thinking of moving out to the mid-wilshire area around venice blvd and lafayette. i think its the lafayette square area, but i'm not really sure. anyways, not being a local from los angeles, i jus wanted to know what the area was like in terms of crime/gangs.
also, how much comparable rent in the mid-wilshire area would stack up.
any help would be appreciated. thanks guys.

I'll try and save this from being un noticed.
I looked at that area when I moved out here. It's ok. Has some real nice areas north of there.
Course it has gangs and crime, but the lafayette square is close to wilshire lapd off labrae/venice if
that makes you feel better. as far as black gangs that's schoolyard crips,close to rollin 20s northern most hood.
Mid city stoners in that area.
I'd go for mid wilshire area. maybe korea town. If you wanted to get away from gangs I'd go north
above olympic. usually further north more $$$.
but of course this is L.A. they're everywhere.
