I'm suprised that it's that low. Look at the murder rates in the bad neighborhoods, some are unbelievably high and gang on gang violence is significantly worse than that. You would think these guys would be just as willing to kill a cop as they would to kill anybody else. But nah it aint like that, gangsters will smoke each other and others with the quickness but not cops. Nowadays, you can't kill or even shoot a cop without being killed or arrested. But even with that, I would still think the hardest gangsters with no regard for the law or their future would care. Me personally, I would whoop a cops ass if he really crossed the line but I wouldn't try to kill him cuz that would more than likely be the rest of my life I would be paying with.

I find this interesting that over 4 years during the height of gang violence, which was double now had no cops killed. The is the largest gap in time between gang cop murders.

3. May 1, 2000 - November 9, 2003 = 3 years 6 months 8 days
This is the second largest gap in time between cop killings by gang members.

4. June 25, 2005 - NOW = 2 years 11 months 27 days
Currently it is going on three years since a cop that was killed by a gang member.

hawaiin gardens killed a deputy 2 years ago, theyre catchin the blues for that shit in the county jail to this day. avenues are probably catchin it right now too cause they just killed one. mc force killed a cop a few years back. what other nieghborhoods killed cops?? its usually not a good idea to kill a cop cause they shut your shit down but theyve been killing us for years so fuck it. and vineland boys killed a burbank cop.

Statistics like that are not always conclusive,those stats show how much perps were caught for murdering cops, I remember looking online and there were at least 80 police officers killed from the 80s to the mid 2000s.

The Late Big Jake Robles discussed this issue in the movie Dead Homiez. His position was that if you are a real gangster and you can shoot up 4 or 5 black people and have an arsenal of weapons, why when the police get behind you, you just surrender? I often wonder this as well. It's probably because as someone has already stated the penalties would be much greater for that offense than for just killing a black or hispanic gang member.

that was back in 2005, and the caught the blues for real for what one guy did. Gang injunction, federal indictment, RICO, etc.

Dont know what his name was.....I once took a class where we ended up going to Hollenbeck to hear from police officers. One of them was telling us how an old partner of his was killed by CXC. I had also heard about this before going to that station.

Actually I know there was an officer involved shooting where an officer died which involved Inglewood 13 & CXC. The hollenbeck officer did still metnion though that an old partner of his was killed by them (CXC), but he never mentioned a name.

the reason I make the distinction is because if a cop is off duty and not in uniform, the shooter may not know the person is a police officer. That certainly takes the death penalty off the table. When Kirkton Moore of 62 Brim shot and killed Officer Pratt in 1988, he had no clue he was shooting the police, because the cops were under cover in an Iroc-Z following him.

I am not aware of any LAPD officer killed from Southeast Division during the 1970s in the Nickerson but I will look it up.
