East Side Longos?

Unread post by crm » May 30th, 2012, 1:37 am

I read on here that they had a huge racially charged war with black and asian gangs in Long beach..did the Longos lose a lot of people to the asian/black gangs? Or did they win it as some have written on here? It seems one sided..as if the longos took out of rivals but nobody really did any retaliating..

Nobody "wins" per say but there was quite a bit of collateral damage on both sides. To this day the Long Beach Chicano gangs have a peace treaty and are mostly concentrated on the black gangs.

It seems that the Asian gangs did much more damage than the black gangs though. Don't the black gangs have the largest numbers in Long Beach? They must surely outnumber the Asian gangs by a lot.

im not from long beach but from what i heard about longos war was way hotter with the asians. it didnt get as bad as with the r20 or icg, pretty much because the asians there are quick to pull guns and shoot so the longos and the trg and abz there got into a bad feud. a long beach asian is more likely to shoot you than a long beach crip. if your mexican that is

The crips don't seem to mind shooting each other a lot though. So basically the longos would attack the asians more because the asians attacked them more? The longos never really shot at the crip gangs alot ?

there are no winners, actually everyone looses, but there was some tension in Long Beach but I would not characterize it based on on race, but if you read comments on streetgangs.com under Long Beach, you will read a bunch of ignorant racial comments.

So you don't think that these conflicts are racial in origin? They just happen to be rivals of a different race? Then why all the racist comments and sentiment?

The green light was against some Asians, and not all Asians, I think it did not include Filipinos and another group, so it appears that they were originally pissed at the Tiny Rascals who were Cambodian.

So then overall, the conflict isn't a racial one? or has it become one? Or maybe some just use racial language to get under their rivals skin to have an advantage? It's a tactical advantage to have your opponent angry as opposed to calm cool and collected. Cooler heads usually prevail.

You hit it right on the head, "some just use racial language" just to incite the violence. I just saw "Fuck Mexicans" in the Jungles a few days ago, and I know that the Black Stones have nothing against Mexicans, but that is just a tactic of war. If you ever read Sun Tzu, he elaborates on the psychological tactics used, and this racial language is on of them.

it was gang beef along racial lines.

but it wasn't a true race war because the blacks were still beefing with blacks and eses were still beefing with other eses (though harbor area peace treaty came along for the sur.)

the asian gangs tried to peace treaty among themselves too but someone would always break it. cbc+trg alliance broke down. wsi disappeared like a lot of the pinoy/pacific islander gangs.

abz and trg back in the 90's would always call truce but then something will happen. either in long beach or outside.

whether something will happen with lb trg in orange county against abz or orange county trg with lb abz. or van nuys abz and lb trg.

i think insane did a lot more damage to longos than anyone. insane is pretty deep.

trg rep was kinda overblown. a lot of dirt that other asian gangs did to longo got attributed to trg. back in the days when an asian dumped on a longo , longo just thinks trg did it.
