What does the X mean in tagging?

What does the X mean in tagging?

For example

TxF- tortilla flats
ESxT- east side torrance (sometimes EST)
HxA- harbor area (a section of LA)

But then CVTF

So whats the point of X?

its just for looks...to seperate both letters....the dudes from dog patch always put the X...DXP...echo park too...EXP

exactly ^

its just their own stylo...

but in some cases, it becomes so commonly used by its members, for so many decades, that its always associated with the varrio initials

SxL = South x Los

I always thought the diamond in DST was dope, I liked when Cypress Aves would write a lil C a real big A then a lil S. c A s it looks tough and is unique.

the X was stylized back in the 70s like a swastika
but it had nothing to do with white power or none of that
it was pure and solid varrio stuff

same like the = on the sides of = RIFA =
