McARTHUR PARK

Unread post by Lonewolf » January 3rd, 2005, 11:46 pm

WESTLAKE's McARTHUR PARK, once the jewel in the crown of L.A's city's park system, is now a zone where several gangs settle their scores almost on a daily basis in a violent way. In a single bad year, 30 or more corpses were found crumpled on the grass, stuffed in park trash cans or half-buried in the muck at the bottom of the lake.

WS EIGHTEEN STREET and LA MARA SALVATRUCHA are the main contenders, but there's others all around Alvarado and the Park.

That is puro centros(guanacos/salvadorenos) heaven or hell...CRS all over there south of the park. 18 east of the park. MS to the West, RSL to the East. Orphans, Witmer around and about. Damn, how many halfway houses were there that fools slanged from...LOL??? Everyone used to be up in that park from back in the 70's though. Had big festivals every year in McArthur Park.

Now they got cameras out there, and they've been trying to clean it up a bit. I still don't walk it, just drive by on my way to Echo Park/Chinatown...LOL.

Nah..way back...when 18 wasn't beefing with everybody. When they were firme with RSL and trying to get them in. When 18 and MS were firme...I wasn't speaking about today. Your right about today, only 18 and CRS there now out in the open.

You can still get what you need at or around the park...LOL...

So when was MS evicted from the park?

I ain't been up there for a while now, so as many of you can tell, my lines are kind of out space in time line.

Be that as it may, I was around before MS came to be, and if anybody remembers even MS had "MS Stoners" on the western side of the park in the early 80s.

I remember when Mara Stoners 1st came out and I started seeing their placasos, I was thinking 'what the hell' what is MaraVilla doing on the West Side? Then before you knew it 'bang' MS became a contender.

I didn't know the part about Mara Stoners joining up with 18 ST.
