Yes their 13 wasn't "earned" in that way, but many gangs in LA used 13 on some stoner shit in different ways prior to "Surenos" and before 13 had to be "earned" on any level... Even Florencia was F13 before the Eme really snatched and branded that number... Poserz, Sex Jerx, and KOD all used 13 at some point, Poserz kept 13 and transitioned into eses/surenos somehow, I'll let them tell you how...

Using "13" in gangs was prior to the Sureno branding of that number, the 13th letter is M/eme and was used in the early-mid 80s by stoner influenced gangs as a Rifa reference not necessarily as Surenos, they branded that number really a few years later... Poserz used 13 before they were even eses, their Black founders used 13 on some stoner gang shit

Every gang starts as a "party crew" at some point, they become popular and start taking relevance in their area... various "Park Boys" throughout LA County were really just popular guys in their neighborhood

Nah holmes, what im talking about is that the way things play out in the old chicano gang culture which still dominates politics in southern california, and put things together with the way cuzzins and bloods dominate the black gang culture, well I can't see a black 13 gang happening under such structures that exist from old.
