Inactive varrios in the SGV.

Many neighborhoods can not maintain themselves with the level of competition. They may get pulled into other neighborhoods or they just fade out. Only discuss those areas from LOS ANGELES that are gone.

I remember being Poorside on Monterey Pass road, in Monterey Park. My friend's dad told me, they had a hood there.

PNS

Pomona North Side.

They were active in 70's, 80's, and 90's but I haven't heard anything from them in years.

The Block Monterey Park, I know a few got into PF but as a hood not sure what happened to them. Poorside been gone for ever, Bartlett is pretty extinct but they always pop up now and then, Rosemeadx3? South San Gabriel is actullly pretty old but havent heard of them in like 5 years. Irwindale 13? Cyclones13? pretty much dead hoods.

what about all those El Monte Varrios?

all you hear nowadays is FLORES, HAYES & HICKS

but what about all the other old ones like North Side Montes
and El Monte Rifa?

A interesting note since I now live out here. SSG is actually on the South side of San Gabriel, where as Lomas SSG is in Rosemead and also South San Gabriel which is its own unincorporated city bordering MTB and Rosemead. I always thought when Lomas wrote SSG they meant south side San gabriel but its actually is own city.

Is Willis Boys (WBS) still active? I noticed Blythe Street (BST) all over their turf.

cruised right through the heart of Bartlett, even looked at a house for rent on Bartlett down the street from what used to be their store. It still has a Varrio feel but no writing, no fools out. I saw some Bartlett writing at the Walmart in Rosemead so I decided to roll through after and look for houses to rent also.
