McCoy Boys on Hooper Avenue & 76th Street

Many neighborhoods can not maintain themselves with the level of competition. They may get pulled into other neighborhoods or they just fade out. Only discuss those areas from LOS ANGELES that are gone.

McCoy Boys on Hooper Avenue & 76th Street

Unread post by alexalonso » April 28th, 2017, 9:11 pm

The McCoys were a family of about 4 or 5 brothers that attempted to establish a gang right down the street from The Avenues headquarters and they were rivals with The Avenues and there was an incident where the McCoys jumped out on Craig Monson and attacked him, around 1967. I wonder if any of these guys are still around.

I wonder if there was a relationship between the Shack Boys that came out around 1969, 1970 and the McCoy family who lived on 76th Street and Hooper.

The McCoy house was on 76th Place (not street) between Central & Hooper, but closer to Central Avenue, but they were always at the Brown's house which was also on 76th Street
