Palo Verde in Chavez Ravine

Many neighborhoods can not maintain themselves with the level of competition. They may get pulled into other neighborhoods or they just fade out. Only discuss those areas from LOS ANGELES that are gone.

Palo Verde in Chavez Ravine

Unread post by yoda100 » May 19th, 2018, 7:45 pm

I saw a topic on here from 2004, and you guys were talking about some of the oldest gangs which had gone defunct, like "Varrio Alpine" etc and this one was in there, "Varrio Palo Verde","VPV", they were mentioned in a book, and it said they were one of the oldest gangs in East Los Angeles, starting in the 1920s in the Chavez Ravine area, they had other defunct gangs aswell such as "La Loma" and "La Bishop". Just thought i'd post this hood in here since I didn't see it in the Inactive and Past Gang Neighborhoods list

Varrio Palo Verde definitely very old. When the dodgers stated to demolish those neighborhood in 1959 (?) that was the end to those communities. I think there were 3 communities in there too.
