TERRITORY CHANGED

Many neighborhoods can not maintain themselves with the level of competition. They may get pulled into other neighborhoods or they just fade out. Only discuss those areas from LOS ANGELES that are gone.

TERRITORY CHANGED

Unread post by Lonewolf » June 12th, 2018, 12:28 pm

Hoods that started in one place, and are now in another place, but they're no longer in their birthgrounds. In other words, they're still banging, but they ain't where they started out in.

Case Example; ALCP - AlCaPone from the late 1960's, started out in the Aliso Village projects, but now are in Azusa, and no hood left in East Los.

Would Tortilla Flats fit into this category? since they started in the 1940's in east los, but are now in Compton, and I believe the original "East Los Tortilla Flats" have no hood their no more

Also lonewolf, this might be off topic from here, but I saw an east los gang list from 1991, they had Al Capone, East L.A Dukes, The Mob Crew, Cuatro Flats, Primera Flats, Clarence street, but there was one gang that stood out, "Rascals", did you ever hear about this gang out there?

Rascals? I think that they either got absorbed by East LA 13, or they got the boot from them, but that's all i know if it's the short lived ones from Aliso Village (?)

and simon, TFlats would be one big case example of a varrio packing up and moving like that., and since you mentioned ALCaPone, them too., they been gone from Boyle Heights for a good time now, but resurrected out there in West Covina, right?

Where was the original Tortilla Flats hood in East Los?

I'm guessing somewhere near the Primera & Cuatera Flats area?

Yeah, It would be in what is now the Cuatera Flats area, did you ever watch that youtube clip called "Old School Homeboys"? At the end of the clip that guy said that the projects in East Los where Cuatro Flats is, was originally the Tortilla Flats varrio back in the 1950s, when the city decided to build freeways there, it divided the varrios, he said the guys living there felt like they were in a different varrio, so they broke off from the East Los Tortilla Flats and started calling themselves the Cuatro Flats.

The "E/S Hang Out Boyz" from East Los, who now go by "S/S Hang Out Boys" in South Central, would fit perfectly in here.

Diamond Street was on Diamond Street where the before the 110 Freeway. That area now has the 110 Freeway right through it. Diamond Street is now west from original area.

I saw the recent Street Gangs interview with one of the HOB founders and he said they just sat around trying to think up names and all agreed to Hang Out Boys... I don't remember him mentioning them originating in East L.A....

Also I always see HOB hit up "S/C" (South Central). I don't know what the difference is but some Hispanic gangs in South Central hit up either S/C or S/S

Yup, i've seen it as "S/C" HOB aswell, interesting, you're right that he didn't mention them about originating in East L.A, There is a topic on here were someone mentioned that they did originally start in east los and moved down to south central, i'll try and find it.

18th Street Columbia Lil Cycos (CYCS) clique is no longer on Columbia Ave. That's all Rockwood Street Locos hood. CYCS is further west, just west of around Barrington.

Geer Gang Crips no longer on Geer Ave. That's 18th Street hood.

And I could be wrong but I don't think Rockwood Street Locos really are on Rockwood Street anymore -- that's Big Top Locos territory... can anyone confirm? Most of RWST hood is south of Beverly.

38th Street Gang... I don't think 38th Street even runs through their hood... the 38th Street nearby now is all factories & warehouses, but no homes.

I think their hood is west of Lincoln and the 210 -- going from around the Altadena border (North) down to around the Rose Bowl area (South). A big territory but I don't think they're that deep. Basically Lincoln/210 splits their hood from Pasadena Denver Lanes...

Yeah there new area is the Manzanita apartments off of orange Grove & Lincoln , SL is a trippy ass hood with no known LA connections , the word squiggly means something not right , something you can't trust , "something is squiggly about the situation" , that's why I think the name relates to there Alta roots , I remember they used to have there own car wash bacvk in the day , and used to frequent that liquor store that was there B4 24hr fitness took it over , as well as Figueroa , hints the click they had flb which defunct after project beef then they relocated , now I've heard them be called Pasadena squiggly lanes which is more untrusting lol , what's trippy is they never get shot outs when someone does a damu roll call , sky lines do but not squiggly , heard they got into it with the Pueblo's over that 52 , which is also a mysterious part of there name , I believe it stands 4 ~"5 niggas made it up , 2 many niggas wanna be like them " and I've heard it could also mean " 5 niggas & 2 bitches " meaning the founders , and I've also heard squiggly means the street they started on near 24 hr fitness was a crooked built street , not a straight line street , but t o believe ADL is really defunct , u can still run into people from it but I don't think cats push it that hard , I think they had issues with jects too , pretty much everything that's not PDL is defunct except PLK , VBP , just seen a SLG who be in Alta alot , they not defunt there war with jects is like the rolling vs moving beef , they going hard on each other but most definitely SLG switched locations

What's even more trippy is it seems like SLG only Allie is crips , but that depends on who's dealing with who , I think some altas are cool with SL's just from personal relationship's , while other alta's or SL's hate each other and hunt each other down , but u don't hear about any other hood havn SL bacvk , cats wonder if they even beefing with VBP at all

According to rap artist Big Tray Deee (ICG), the Paybacc Crips in Gardena started in Long Beach in the 1970's, before moving to Gardena. To my knowledge there is no longer a Paybacc Crips hood in Long Beach.

38th has always been in the same area. Part of the varrio is warehouses. But their strongholds have always been Vernon and Long Beach and Vernon and Hooper.

Yes, Rockwood has relocated and their original varrio is now closer to HHS and BTLS. They were well known to claim the Belmont Station which was pretty close to Rockwood Street but now they are on the other side of 4th.

I can think of quite a few of these if you give me some time.

Temple Street original barrio was closer to what DST claims now.
WS White Fence was originally on “Strawberry Hill” in Echo Park.
Thee Rascals were near Diamond Street off Edgeware.
Ford Maravilla used to actually be on Ford.
Marianna Maravilla has moved a little bit depending on who you talk to.
Clanton 14th Street obvious
Barrio Pobre has gone from SC, to Compton, to Carson, and finally LB.
Aztlan used to be off Sunset but I don’t think they’re there anymore.
Street Villains used to be on the east side of 110.
Choppers 12 started in South Central.
Townsmen started out just west of Azusa but is now where HHG used to be.

I’m sure more will come to me in time
