In July 1970, 7 prisoners in Soledad were accused of killing prison guard, William Shull. In this photo, 2 of the Soledad 7 go to court in their murder case, James Wagner and Roosevelt Williams, both 24.
The other 5 Soledad 7 are Walter Watson, Jesse Phillips, O.C. Allen, Alfred Dunn and Jimmie James.
Walter Watson became a Slauson in 1959, then went to prison in 1965 and became a member of the Soledad 7 after the killing of prison guard, then he became a member of the Black Guerrilla Family. He talks about the San Marin Court house shootout with George Jackson's younger brother Jonathan Jackson along with Ruchell Magee and others. Listen to this amazing podcast, Episode 6 at:
