A masterpiece. Cronenberg came back after a series of downers (ExistenZ, Spider...) and it's good to see him alive behind a camera !

If you liked the film, grab the graphic novel. The film is great, but the novel is greater. I've read it after seeing the film and I have to acknowledge that Cronenberg made a helluva great adaptation. He made a lot of changes because the graphic novel is unbelieveably violent and IN NO WAY it would have been translated to the silver screen like that. I've never read something that violent. The tortures scenes are the most gruesome ever drawn. They are easily much more tougher than the Alan Moore's From Hell single issue depicting Jack The Ripper doing his surgical work on a prostitute. But besides the violent aspect, it is a model of storytelling. Great characters, great dynamics and great dialogues, depicting life on the mean streets of Philly's, italian street gangs' routine and Mob activities.

Grab it, you'll love it !

For the most part I thought it was a good movie, I didn't like the ending though.
