I know for a fact they still function with EC, but there's a good reason why I wasn't so sure they still "claim" east coast.

I have a question that you might know the answer to.
Yesterday we got a visit from some mexican guy working at our companies branch in Denver, he came all the way over here for some business visit, a guy in his late 40s.
He grew up in South Central (dont know which neighbourhood, but he said it was like 90% black back in his days) and said that he was chased by black gangs often because he said the local gangs often demanded new members to kill a non black person (mexican) as a initiation and they tried to kill him a couple of times....

Sounded a little far fetched to me since gangs black,brown or white mostly target their own, no?

Sounds far fetched to me. I've never heard of a black gang in LA courting on members for killing non blacks. Black n Brown gangs co-existed prior to the 1990s on great terms. In fact, most black gangs in L.A. have at least one Mexican member, especially way back then.
