Four Brothers (2005)

Unread post by Anonymous20 » August 16th, 2005, 5:16 pm

Mark Wahlberg is becoming a top performer. Four Brothers was a pretty decent film, but I don't like the trend that a rapper has to be in every major movie coming out. I understand that it is a great way to appeal to that demographic that will be spending money to see the movie, but Andre from Out Kast should stick to the Music.

I know, Mark was once Marky Mark with the Funky Bunch but that is a part of his career he should have bypassed.

Good movie though, and got some real gangsta scenes. Tyrese was good too.

I just can't take Andre 3000 and Tyrese seriously as actors. And when i hear Mark Walberg, i'll always think of that horrible corny ass group "the funky bunch".

Sort've like Jamie Foxx as a gangsta kingpin...i can't see it. I still see thee funny guy on In Living Color and all the other funny stuff he's done.

I can't take them as serious actors...i just can't.

Never seen this movie but they filmed this movie in my hood in Canada. I got to meet Tyrese up here. They acted like it was Detriot tho...Also some of "Paid In Full" was filmed in my City and Toronto.

Mark Wahlberg is cool. I remember this one time he was on TRL with Eminem and that punk made some stupid joke about the Funky Bunch and Mark got this look on his face like he was ready to kill Eminem it was hilarious. If Mark would of been alone with Eminem he would of mopped the floor with that punk. Shame they weren't alone.

Mark was also ok in a very underrated movie Three Kings. Check it out. :D

Four Brothers is a good action piece. Wahlberg, Tyrese, Garrett Hedlund, Andre Benjamin and Terence Dashon Howard were good, and Singleton is back in good shape after his "2-Fast-2-Furious-dont-want-to-direct-no-more-death-wish".

The film reminded me of good ole' action-packed seventies flicks of Gordon Parks (Sr and Jr), Jonathan Kaplan and George Armitrage. The same flavour, the same spirit and the same funky touch. If it had been made way back, Four Brothers would have starred William Smith, Jim Brown, Scott Glenn and Jim Kelly as the brothers, Roger E.Mosley as the bad guy and Bernie Casey as the good cop, played in the film by T.D.Howard.

Good stuff all the way...

Yea this is a pretty dope film, Andre's character didnt really seem to wanna avenge his mother, i didnt feel it, i understand he had a wife and 2 small kids but come on his mother was gunned down, u hav to feel hatred and a feeling of revenge, but he was just too "i dont wanna do anything" character

This movie was on point. I enjoyed it for real. I just wished they would've really filmed it in Detroit and not Canada.
