The Los Angeles City Council voted 10-2 to approve $1.5 million payout to Ezell Ford's family for the murder of Ezell back in 2015 when two LAPD officers pulled up on him on 65th Street, tackled him to the ground, and shot him in the back.
The two council members who voted against the settlement — Mitch Englander and Joe Buscaino, both reserve officers for the LAPD believed the officers acted appropriately during the encounter with Ford.
