How do you define the Inland Empire in Southern California?

Unread post by alexalonso » September 4th, 2017, 2:48 pm

After my interview with the guys from 456 Islands Piru Bloods in Pomona that rejected their city being included in the Inland Empire I wanted to see the different ways in which the IE has been represented. It's not an official location, there are no actual boundaries, it just a place that people perceive in different ways.

Notice that the third map on the bottom included Pomona, where as the other two don't.

Pomona is still LA county.

The IE is Riverside County and San Bernardino County.

Regardless of county lines or what ranfla each town claims along the line, geographically wise, the inland empire to me starts at Pomona and La Verne, running more-or-less parallel along the 60, the 10, 210 and the old route 66, all the way east to the town of Banning. But the inland empire most def does not include Corona, Lake Elsinore and neither Temecula, that’s for sure not IE. Not all of Riva or Berdo Counties are Inland Empire, fact! Maybe Cray or Nyre Rider can clear this one up with a quickness.

I forgot to add that once you get past whitewater, the road splits, the 62 takes you to the high desert and places like 29 palms where you an party with all the ladies when the marines are not in town, and then the 10 and 111 take you down into the low desert. The people down there call it the Desert Valley, starting at Desert Hot Springs and Palm Springs, all the way south to the Salton Sea shores, that's the Desert (Lower) Valley ranfla down here. From West Drive Locos and Browns Town in DHS, all the way to Varrio Mecca Rifa, it's all called the Desert Valley and most def not IE.

i would agree with 456 IP's that for ranfla purposes, no, Pomona rides with LACounty lines and not the IE.

Orale, here's the deal on the IE car and which towns claim it as their ranfla.

According to the people who named this area INLAND EMPIRE (I.E.), below are the cities that exist within the I.E. border which is both San Bernardino and Riverside County combined... To the current knowledge of this website, we are not sure if all of the gangs in these cities listed actually DO claim the I.E., so in response, we recognize ONLY those cities that lay within the heart of the Inland Empire. Cities where the home-grown I.E. street gangs consistently fight off "Outsiders" to protect its own. These bloody turf battles have been ongoing for years and may never stop. The cities below are an overall look at how big the inland empire is, but make no mistake, ONLY the heart or the I.E. is what we speak on in conversation on this site. Although conversation outside of that does exists, the I.E. in which we speak is roughly from Pomona to Moreno Valley (east/west), and from Riverside to san Bernardino (north/south). It's not about the county in which the I.E. consists of, it’s about the street gangs in select cities that bang I.E. at all cost.... The cities underlined in bold are in fact the cities in which we speak on... Also, the map up top, in the yellow, represents the areas in which these cities in bold lay.

The only LA county gang that claimed IE was Varrio Claremonte 1st. But that area has long been “gentrified” and I’m pretty sure they’re extinct as a active hood. The city obviously sits next to Upland, Montclair and Pomona so these are the cities they beefed with. IMO Pomona is more in the IE region and has a long history of interacting and beefing with IE gangs but due to gang politics they fall under SGV. At least the chicanos do.

The most eastern border of IE, at least in the gang world, is Banning. But to those of us around the San Bernardino area, that’s thought of as being wayyy out there. Victorville is probably the north end boundary, but that’s like what Palmdale is to LA county. Then there’s Temecula that claims IE also, but that may as well be San Diego. Corona in Riverside county chooses not to claim IE even though they can legitimately claim IE, they just push Corona as far as I understand it. So as mentioned, it’s a lot to do with how it’s perceived by different people.
