Mystikal, born Michael Tyler, is returning to prison for three months after serving only two of his five years on probation. He completed a six-year prison term in 2010 for sexual battery and distortion when Tyler pleaded guilty to forcing his hairstylist to perform "continuous sex acts" or face accusations of stealing $80,000 worth of checks from the Louisiana rapper.
The Advocate reports that the 90 days extra are for a misdemeanor charge of domestic abuse battery enacted in Ascension Parish, in violation of his probation that stipulated he must remain arrest- and conviction-free. Tyler's attorney Roy Maughan Jr. said that the incident occurred within Tyler's domestic partnership, from which the rapper sired two children. “It was an unfortunate incident between two people who have cared a lot about each other for 10 years."
Mystikal is slated to perform at S.O.B.'s in New York and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, then retun to jail on May 14 to serve time. He is already credited nine days from the duration of his arrest in February.
