Started with lights, then Camel Turkish Gold, then Marlboro Reds or Camel Filters, finally the only stogue that had that kick was a Newport. I appreciate your support but I don't know either. It's more or less me just blowing off steam over the net. Everybody and their mother talks shit about our area and I can see why. When I was younger I had used to think that we were the wildest, craziest place in the world. But now I know. We had our chance to be something and we blew it. We kept electing one term mayors and nothing ever came out of it. Now we have a shit population and people are leaving day after day. Buffalo is now in the same situation as what happened to us. Their budget crisis will eventually turn them into a ghost town. There is nothing we can do.

It's just wierd that you referenced Brooklyn and Harlem as the bad parts of NY since those are highly desireable places to live. If you go into any projects you're going to see bad areas, but a lot of NYC neighboorhoods are really gentrified. My younger bro lives in Brooklyn and pays 2500 a month for a 2 bedroom. (and that's in not such a great area). You can always get stuff for cheaper but personally I'm not willing to live in the south bronx and risk my life everytime I walk to the subway (and his girlfriend who is loaded lives in a nice apt. in Harlem.) You clearly are not from NY.

areas in harlem and the south bronx get really bad once you hit around 125-130 st. the couple of blocks after the park are good, and some even alright a little past that. however in harlem, there are some areas where rent is high and the crime isn't as bad. but those are closer to the park. in brooklyn there are places like that all over. in harlem however, you wont find so many nice areas if you continue going north and into the bronx.

This is my neighborhood. It's not Harlem. Rich people call it the ghetto. It has it's share of crime but it's not like the big cities. Those houses are brand new. It was part of a community housing program designed to tear down blight and build new.
