These concepts are socially constructed and have been given much weight. What are your thoughts?

Kalamazoo cops urge boycott of white rally

KALAMAZOO, Mich., July 7 (UPI) -- Police are urging people in Kalamazoo, Mich., not to participate in a rally against "black gang terrorism" being organized by an Internet talk show host.

Talk show host Hal Turner of North Bergen, N.J., has called for the Aug. 4 protest as a response to reports of alleged assaults by black teenagers against whites, the Kalamazoo Gazette reported Saturday.

But Dan Weston, chief of the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, said residents should "ignore his (Turner) rally cry to gather and meet."

The newspaper quoted a news release issued by Turner, who says he has called for several white supremacist organizations to send members to the Michigan city for the rally. Turner also said the rally's purpose is to "tell politicians that everyone is tired of the police having their hands tied by politically correct appointees who fear being called racist for enforcing the law."

The newspaper has reported that in 15 of 21 assault cases, the attacks were allegedly committed against a lone white male by a group of black males.

if there were 15 cases of a black teenager being beated up by white guys, they would burn the city down. if this really is a problem in their community, why shouldn't they be able to march? if people can march for being proud of being homosexuals, i don't see anything wrong with this.

For the same reason people roll their eyes when Quanell X picks up a new cause. If Turner is requesting the white supremacists come to this rally to specifically target "black gangs", what good can come of it?

I remember when I lived in Huntsville (where they execute the prisoners in Texas) and they killed Gary Graham. We had New Black Panthers, the KKK, Aryan Nation - you name the extremist group, we had it. It was a nightmare. Business closed down and many college classes were canceled that day for fear of a riot breaking out.

If Turner really wanted this to be taken seriously, he wouldn't have gotten white supremacists involved.

Many people discredit their own cause
