3Donald Stevens, 44, a black man, was shot at 2507 E. 109th St. in Watts/Willowbrook, and died at 2:05 p.m. Wednesday, May 2. He was shot at about 1:30 p.m. along with a second black man who was about the same age. Both were transported to hospitals, where Stevens died. The second victim is expected to survive. They had been standing in a group of people washing a car outside in a neighborhood where black and Latino gangs are at odds. Sheriff's homicide is investigating. .................................

Gang Shooting Leaves One Dead, One Injured

Los Angeles: Gang violence claims the life of a 17-year-old South Los Angeles youth.

On October 6, 2007 at about 10:15 p.m., Jason Valdez Perez, 17, and his 18-year-old friend were standing with a group of friends in front of a residence in the 700 block of East 109th Street.

A male Black suspect walked up to the residence and fired several gunshots towards the group. Both Perez and a second victim were struck by the gunfire. The suspect then ran northbound on Mckinley Avenue. He and the weapon remain outstanding.

Perez suffered a fatal gunshot wound to his upper torso and died at scene. The 18 year-old victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for a minor gunshot wound and released from the hospital the same evening.

The motive for this shooting is believed to be gang related.

Jason Valdez-Perez, 17, was shot once in the head east of 759 E. 109th Street in Watts at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. An 18-year-old companion who was with him at the time was wounded in the shooting but survived. The suspect, a lone black man or youth, fled north on McKinley. Jason's friend was treated and released.

Jason, six-foot-one with an easy smile, was a Locke High School senior about to graduate. He loved animals, and wanted to be a veterinarian, said friends and family members, gathered to grieve at his home four days after his killing, Jason's pet Chihuahua padding around their feet aimlessly. He was the middle child of three, and had no gang ties, said his uncle Raul Perez. "An innocent face," his uncle said. He was randomly targeted--happened to be standing outside when the attacker struck, detectives said.

This dude was an INNOCENT CIVILIAN. BUT that's "gangsta" right dumbcity? These low-lifes who killed this guy are REAL COWARDS. But according to dumbcity, ecc is "smashing ese's".

Gangs killing gangs is understandable because you know what your getting yourself into when you join a gang. But I just wish that we would stop killing civilians because regardless of there color they aren't a threat to us. Why kill an innocent civilian when u can just go kill a rival gang member or some foo who's disrespecting you. It just makes no since in my eyes. Its not even proving a point when some one kills a random person.
