What Is Your Favorite Mexican Food?
It's been real interesting to listen to all the gossip regarding the black vs latino conflict on this forum, but at the end of the day, thousands of non-Mexicans are pounding down Mexican (the real deal) or pseudo Mexican cuisine (Taco Bell, Del Taco etc.).
Some of my favorites would have to be Al Pastor Tacos with rice and beans, Chicken Mole, and oh yea..Ceviche too if made with good fish.

yum
Armadillo cooked in hot ass chile sauce. Along with some freshly made toritllas grinded from the mazorca. Before anyone says anything, I am a proud southern mexican. We continue to eat our traditional meals despite what the Nothern mexicans say.
If anyone cares to know, it tastes kinda like pork. Yum!

Common Sense, I'm not sure exactly how to describe it. I guess that would be an accurate description of the Mexican food down here in Texas. I would say Texas influenced as opposed to anything relating to the southwest like Arizona or New Mexico. I'm sure a lot of the Mexican food we eat in Texas is like the Mexican food in California.Common Sense wrote:What is the real deal with TEX MEX? Is it Mexican cuisine with a Texas / SouthWest spin on it?
Fajitas, carnitas, barbacoa, menudo, tamales, flautas, taquitos, enchiladas, carne guisada or carne asada, chimichangas, tampiquena steak, chicarrones, sopapillas, tripas, stuff like that is common in Texas. Texas has some great Mexican food, whether you're in San Antonio, Houston, El Paso, or anywhere else. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure if Mexican food down here in Texas is that much different than Mexican food in California.
