The Idea of the HOLY
LaDagaa people of Ghana ask,
"Why do you make us suffer?"
God replies, "Because you sinned on earth."
And they ask, "Who created us?"
To which God replies, "I did."
And they ask, "If you created us, did we know
evil when we came or did you give it to us?"
God replies, "Igave it to you."
Then the people ask, "Why was it that you knew
it was evil and gave it to us?"
God replies, "Stop, let me think and find the answer."

It has its wild and demonic forms and can sink into an almost grisly horror and shuddering.
It has its crude barbaric antecedents and early manifestations, and again it may be developed into something beautiful and pure and glorious.
It may become the hushed, the trembling and the speechless humility of the creature in its presence of whom or what?
In the presence of that who is a mystery, inexpressible and above all creatures.
-Rudolph Otto

Man makes religion, religion does not make man.
Religion is the self-consciousness and self-esteem
of man who has either not yet found himself -or-
has already lost himself again....
Religion is the sign of the oppressed creature,
the heart of a heartless world,
just as as it is the spirit of a spiritless condition.
It is the opium of the people.

He is a tyrant who uses force while making a show of benevolence.
To be a tyrant, one must have a large kingdom at one's command.
He is a true King who practices benevolnece in a virtuous spirit.
To be a true king, one need not wait for a large kingdom.
When men are subdued by force, it is not their hearts that are won,
but their strenght that gives out.
When men are won by goodness, their hearts are glad within them,
and their submission is sincere.
-Mencius (Confucian scholar)

Now the two primal Spirits, who revealed themselves in vision as Twins, are the Better and the Bad in thought and word and action.
And between these two, the Wise One chose aright, and the Foolish not so.
And when these Twin Spirits came together in the beginning, they established Life and Not-Life, and that at the last, the Worst existance shall be to the followers of the Lie, but the Best thought to him that follows Right.
-Zoroaster

So you've completely eliminated any form of rules, regulations, or rituals.
That's an interesting perpective. That's ok. Religions are completely different throughout the world. To say that one religion is the only correct one does sound ludicrous.[/b]
