SPD NEWS: EAST SIDE CRIPS GANG TAKEDOWN

In January 2019, the Stockton Police Department with assistance of the California Department of Justice and the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office - Bureau of Investigation initiated an investigation targeting the East SIde Crips criminal street gang located in Stockton, CA. Members of the East Side Crips were responsible for inflicting a high level of criminal activity against the Stockton community including homicide, attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, illegal weapons possession, illegal weapon trafficking, robberies, narcotic trafficking and pimping / human trafficking. The investigation was initiated to reduce the levels of violence occurring in Stockton and the surrounding communities. “This group was involved in some serious violent crimes,” said Stockton Police Chief Eric Jones. “I want other individuals and groups to know that if you continue to commit acts of violence in our community, specially gun violence and human trafficking, you will become the focus of the law enforcement community and be held accountable for your illegal actions.”

Arrests: 13

Guns: 7 handguns and 1 rifle

Drugs: 6 pounds of Marijuana / ¾ pound of Methamphetamine / 15 Grams of cocaine
