You are right, that many mainstream historians have a eurocentric point of view, but there are definitely those who try to keep it real and try to clean up the racist mess of the past. And i can tell you, at my school i had teachers from all around the world, Togo, Tanzania, USA, Turkey, Libanon and so on and that was good cause it helps you getting a more objective picture of things.
You just have to dig a little deeper then most people are willing to, but the truth is out there, even over here in Europe. And there are also many people who are willing to express it.
