Mexican Adversiting

ive noticed that all the signs in mexico that advertise something use the lighter skinned mexicans, and not any of the native American/armidean people..... Now ive noticed alot of whiter mexicans in places like hermisillo, but in the places in between mazatlan and hermisillo (mostly) sinoloa state they still use lighter faces compared to the native faces, where natives dominate.... Could this be seen as racism? Cause sinoloa seems to have a more pronounced aboriginal population, so wouldnt it make sense to use their faces for advertising? Where i come from even though white faces are used alot in advertising, multiracial places like toronto/vancouver have a wide assortment of the local faces for advertising which reflect the local populations..... Im not trying to be righteous but i think it makes sense to have advertising reflect the local populace, in my opinion......

I think it's the european blooded mexicans.. from what I understand it is somewhat of a skin-color issue in Mexico and the lighter skinned mexicans are typically more successful/rich than the dark-skinned mexicans. I heard something about how the top percentile of Mexico is mixed european mexicans (people who appear white) and they have most of the power in the country. I could be way off on all this. I met this white mexican citizen in a college class. The guy was white skinned, brown hair, brown eyes but was raised in Mexico and had a strong accent. I didn't ask him what descent he was.

This isn't a US or Mexican phenomena, the unfortunate honest truth is that discrimination and racism is human nature, not saying that it's alright but that's just how it is.

I would assume that that advertising reflects Toronto more open progressive society vs any of Mexico major cities and especially more so then Mexico in general.

Nothing new you find this in most former colonies the ruling class and catered to group of people is closer to the former colonizers...I don't know why you guys are acting like it's some big phenomena.

If you watch the tele novelas (spanish soap operas) they use all fair skinned or white Spanish speaking actors.
