The reason for America´s support for Israel is because that happens to be the only country in the region that shares the same values as america.
It is the only democracy in the region and are military allies as well, united against terror and behind the USA all the way. The war that they are fighting against arab terrorism is actually relieving US troops and civilians of terror. The fight is global and the USA needs all the allies it can get....

Because Israel is a rather small country with a population of 6 million. The country is not big enough for every jew in the world besides Israel is not that great of a place to live most jews would rather stay in places like the US,France,Germany and England.

It is not against the Law for a Jewish Women to marry an Asian Man.. Marriage in Israel is not based on ethnicity it is based on belief... Christians, Muslims, Judaism, Sikhism, Hinduism can not inter-faith marry.. but a Ashkenazy (White) Jew can Marry a Kai Feng (Asian) Jew.. just as a Black Muslim could marry a white muslim in Israel. I see this is a really, really old thread that I am using my first response to. So here goes.
Having grown up in Israel and spending my teens in their equivalent of the projects, I have a little different viewpoint.
Jews started moving back to Israel in the early 1800s. Most of the ones who moved there were pioneering types who worked the land. After the holocaust the many of the surviving Jews started moving there. Now instead of a few pioneers you started having thousands of people. At the same time, the British started investing in the land, something the Turks who owned it for a few centuries before never did. So not only Jews were moving in but also a lot of unemployed Arabs from neighboring countries came to work. These are not Palestinians. The British made a lot of promises to a lot of people in exchange for help in WWII. They ended up splitting the territory. The Muslims didn't like a Jewish entity in their midst and attacked. At this time Israel was receiving no help from the US or Europe. Rich Jews bought the few weapons they had with their own money. Mostly Czech semiautomatics, Russian tanks and a few Piper crop dusters converted for military use. Somehow they managed to not only rebuff six Arab countries but also take some more of their shit, like territory and weapons. Israel got its independence in 1948. has been around for sixty four years. Most of its citizens are third generation. Israel gained their "turf" fair and square. If anyone wants to claim that the land was stolen, too late anyway you look at it. Someone can't be expected to give up the house they've lived all their life if their grandfather stole it.
After the Six Day War, in 1967 (in which Israel kicked some serious ass again against combined forces of six Arab countries and doubled its size), The Soviets started offering weapons to Egypt and Syria. The US decided Israel would be a good pawn in the cold war. They started selling weapons to Israel,before that Israel was buying from France, and Britain and Germany. By 1973 after the October war the US started giving Israel cold cash to buy weapons exclusively from the US. Non of this money trickles down to the everyday people, except maybe the Russian Mob who might steal some weapons from time to time.
So your tax dollars end up supporting a US based arms dealer, not any Israelis (except some top politicians maybe).
