WILLIAMSPORT — Sixteen more people were indicted Wednesday on federal drug charges. Thirteen were in custody Wednesday morning with police searching for three more. The majority of those arrested were from New York City and all were connected to the Bloods.
According to U.S. Attorney Thomas A. Marino, the gang has been infiltrating the area over the last two years bringing crack cocaine to the region from New York City because they can get a better price for the drug here.
The indictments and arrests followed 26 indictments Tuesday as federal, state and local police swept through Snyder, Union and Northumberland counties making arrests. In addition, Kane's Tavern on Arch Street, Sunbury was closed because law enforcement officials said it was a hub for drug dealers who sold crack cocaine.
