I'm pissed that when I go vote, that all they ask me for is 'my name & address'. Come on man. Yes u can still fake an identity w/ an id but giving people the option NOT 2 have 1 and instituting the rule JUST TELL ME WHO U ARE AND I'LL BELIEVE is asinine.

I don't think that it's racist. First of all, who in 2012 doesn't have some form of ID. The misconception is that it's just Black people trying to vote without proper ID's but it's all races. For the old folks that don't have one, there should some other form that could be used in it's place. Nevertheless, there needs to be some ID given, and voting day should be a national holiday so everyone can vote.

AGREED! how is it racist to ask for ID? unless it implies all people to be discriminated against are unable to obtain an ID. Born in America of American parents. I dont have a greencard, I dont play dumb.

I couldnt even begin to tell you how many adults I know that dont have an ID or license, or as they say in LA, "I dont have no L" with L meaning the ID or license. I would expect that in urban cities where the DMV process to get an ID or to renew an ID like with the DMVs in LA would have more people not getting one. Also the cost of an ID is about $20 and some people just dont get one. Since this would be more prevalent in poorer, democratically leaning districts, then VOTER ID would favor Republicans. Is it racist? Wont go as far as saying that, but no one really knows the motives behind these ideas.

We agree 2 disagree!! Tell u 1 thing though, no matter how indigent those folks who 'lack' IDs are, I bet u they can go buy cigarettes, alcohol, & beer whenever they want it. Unless they have 'know' people where these items are sold how else are they getting their drugs (alcohol) & ciggs or cashing their welfare checks? Sure there are some who can't afford an ID or even daily essentials, no doubt. But what's the percentile 4 those folks? Answer: a minute minority.

But 4 the most part the Dumbocrats use this issue 2 try 2 make the Repugnicants look like racists b/c they want people 2 prove by showing a card who they are prior 2 them casting a ballot. I ain't buying it dog. I'm sure some Dumbocratic politician somewhere has told some 'minority' WITH an ID 2 say they don't have 1 and the I don't have an ID but don't disenfranchise me of my right 2 vote b/c this is what my slave ancestors fought for sympathy plea caught wind. This is mere subterfuge by the Dumbocrats 2 get minorities & those looking 4 hand-outs or believe their entitled 2 something (just like Romney was talking about in that 'undercover' dinner video) 2 vote 4 their liberal and unconstitutional policies. The Dumbocrats want people 2 just 'take my word 4 it'. That don't even fly in the court system. U have 2 'show' and prove.

I agreed with Tarheed on this part. In Europe where I live you cannot vote without an ID. And everybody knows that.
This is something I hate from so-called leftist if that They defend minorities or poor people, they're all for justice and equality etc. The reality is They work for themselves on the back of the ones who believe in their craps. Kind of hypocritical
