AND with that logic, punching below the belt is cool too?

I call it the whiners card. but even whiners can get ahead by sniveling to the right audience.

That Ad is garbage. Racism is real, not a card to be played. Now whenever people are called on their racist actions to minimize the effect it's called using the race card. Personally, I don't see it that way. Call it what it is!

It's called Racism, and it exists but some people don't believe it, or they think racism ended. But it is around us in different forms, behind closed door, in court room, among law enforcement, in politics, etc. So use the card when that's what it is.

There is no racism in my home or ever passed down from my family. I come from a direct lineage of Euro and Negroid parents and grandparents and hate over skin color or hair texture was never taught.

But nevertheless you sound like, you don't believe RACISM has ever existed and / or has shaped our society or currently impacts society. If any of those are true all I can do is pray for you and hopefully you will see the light one day.

But a quick example of how intense racism is currently, is to look any video online that talks about black people for example, any video, and then examine the comments. You will see at least 10 to 20 percent of the comments are blatantly racist, but in most instances they are made anonymously. But these are the people we hang out with, go to school with, work for, they represent all segments of society, but because you will most like never actually see a prominent person say these things in public most naive people believe it must not exist. think forward.

people dont like to go public with the ugly truth because people get angry at hearing the truth... I dont deny racism at all, but what i notice is people denying their racism while calling others racist.
they are now saying Latino is the new black. Does that make sense to you? it trips me out, holmes. trips me out.
There is racism from all races. People are just that way... not everyone is gonna be the same and the strong ones dont worry about being "politically correct" or not hurting people with the truth. The weak ones will hide in the masses, but dont be a fool... the hunters stalk in there .. all kinds holmes, all kinds.. all varieties and combinations there is to be had ,you will find every kind of freak across the race board. so to pretend that the black victim shame and blame game isnt fully played out.. man, sometimes you gotta wonder...

Dont confuse someone who makes a racist comment or statement, or does a racist act (which any one is capable of) to actual racism (which not everyone is capable of). If you understand what racism actually is, you will understand that it is when people, groups, individuals and institutions use their power over another group, person or peoples based on race.

So if a University decides that they do not want to admit black students who dont score over 300 in their exam, and the reason why most not all dont score over 300 is because their is an inherent cultural bias in the words used in the exam that blacks did not grow up with, therefore most will not understand, if that policy is not changed, that institution is engaging in a racist practice.

Now, If Jesse Jackson, who does not have institutional power, calls New York City, Jew Town, as ignorant as that statement is, by definition, at worst it is a discriminatory comment, certainly NOT racist. Please don't confuse the two.

Racism is alive and well in America. My manager is afraid to tell the blacks at my work to move their asses because he is scared they will play it. Meanwhile I am killing myself while they stand around making small talk. Some bs......

@Christina- Sounds like the problem is your manager. I wouldn't consider that racism but stupidity. If this guy is afraid to hold African American employees accountable for their failure to perform at work, especially because he's fightened of some one saying racism, then he is incompetent and should be let go. Moreover, if those black people falsely accused him of racism and it was based on what you described, then it should be called what it is, some ignorant and dishonest people making false accusations about someone, not a race card. If racism did not exist, then it could possibly be considered a card, but it's too previlant for that to be the case. No disrespect to you or any other white members of this forum, but in my opinion, most of White America can't see this point of view because they typically don't experience racism, especially the type seen by African American and Lation people!

you are dead wrong about that... but it IS only your opinion.

Racism knows no racism. in other words, ALL races are guilty of committing it and and being subject to it

Agreed!!! Couldn't have said it better my man!! And if it ain't the race card that's being played its the blame whitey card. That never gets old. Blacks continue 2 use whites as scapegoats 4 all their problems instead of accepting accountability 4 our own mistakes. Sure racism is still extant but hold yourself accountable 4 your own mistakes. It's too easy 2 blame somebody else.

That's what I believe in man.

I guess I don't get around much man because I haven't seen or heard the blatant racism. The man is 1/2 black and 1/2 white. In most situations/cases in life u have 2 be 1 or the other but in this case (ethnicity) he's both. So, even though he's 'colored' he's only 1/2 colored. The one drop of black rule does not apply. Be what u are because God don't make no mistakes. I don't share Farrakhan's view that whites are inherently more evil than blacks & other races. YHVH says we are ALL sinners. So until we're redeemed by trusting in YHVH's Son we're all equally evil & equally sinners.

I believe in free speech, but just because u can say something don't mean u should. I think there is a way 2 state truth or opinions w/o disparaging a person or people. I hate stereotypes and when people lump 1 person w/ a whole race or a group of people who share those same ideals or views. Or situations where people stereotype/lump a whole group of people who have the same characteristics (physical or not) with the person they don't like or disagree with.
