DID THE CENTURIES OF RACISM WEAKEN US OR STRENTHEN US

These concepts are socially constructed and have been given much weight. What are your thoughts?

DC youre not one of us so for you to say youre over it is irrelevent. This post was directed at black people,I dont even see why you whites have anything to say under this post.Did the centuries of racism weaken ''us'' or strenghten ''us'' the ''us'' is black people, not whites or any other people. Its easy for someone to say they are over it when they arent the ones being affected by it.

you dont think that happened in other places? jews were starved, robbed, and harassed as well. 20,000,000 people died under ONE leaders rule. 20,000,000!

jews and egyptians were enslaved way before african slavery, and their slavery was just as bad. i am not saying yours wasn't bad, but just know theres worse things that could have happened to you as well.

also with the whole "ya niggas be talkin like ya can relate". you can relate to being a slave and working on a plantation as much as i can relate to being in a concentration camp, which is none. your not a slave, your parents were slaves, get over the slavery thing. racism is another issue, but the slave thing is done. there are no more white slave owners. you say i have NO idea, but neither do YOU. you werent a slave you can not relate. Millions of africans died just on the passage to america on the slave ships. How would you feel stuffed in the bottom of a ship,in flaming heat, shackled down, covered in feces and urine, and all around you there are children, men and women crying and yelling. Then when you get to your new land you are nothing but property.so your treatment is up to the sicko who buys you.

you all do nothing but disrespect and anger us by coming on here and telling us to get over it and bringing up what happened to other people. The person who started this forum asked blacks a specific question, then we have honkies coming in here and giving thier unwanted opinions.Just shut the fuck up,this isnt for nor about you so you shouldnt even comment under this thread.

We all know the racism in America but what about middle-eastern racism and all the blacks there? How come you don't hear much come out from there about reparations and all. I'm reading Arabian Nights for fun and it's really crazy to see how much 'racism' there really is even in their culture all while being muslims (for those who think being muslim is the original black religion, ??). It's like I haven't once read where a black man isn't a slave or used to describe something as black or he's a bad guy, dark = bad; white = good and that's all in popular culture since the stories in the book def show a close look at the culture. I was even talking to a moroccan friend for fun the other day and he told me about a family who kicked their daughter out coz she wanted to stay with a black guy. Or even what about the blacks down in South America, I'm sure it's not everywhere but the girl I used to go out with, she was Colombian, and her mother would sometimes ask me for fun if I'd go out with a black girl. I would say yea, if I love her yea and she'd look at me with those weird eyes like if it were abnormal. So bottom line, what's up with all those other places in the world where racism in their culture is older than the founding of America. It's like the modern day racism we only hear about is white on black and we're forgetting how big really the subject is. You speak of centuries, really it could go even further than centuries. The arrival of Africans to America and the slavery there lasted centuries. But in Africa itself, the slaves coming from Africa came from close to Nortern Africa and like I said, there's racism in their culture too and even many Africans who were brought to America were owned by other black slave masters as well. So it even black slavery goes even further back than centuries, it's just that I think that's the slavery that's the freshest so it's all based on that and the other aspects of the other types of racism throughout history that was practiced on black people is kind of forgotten. Whites didn't invent anything with slavery, neither did Arabs either I believe, the real story goes way deeper and in the end it's maybe not as logically as we'd like it to be so that you can then ask for reparations for these few people as if it were that easy. But to the question if racism either weakened or strenthened, I don't believe there's nothing new under the sun. Slavery has always existed and it's been practiced on every people throughout the past. About the hypocrit racism practiced though as for example in jobs or that type of shit, I believe that's just plain wrong but I have to come down to the conclusion that it's not new at all. Maybe that's why trying to build a tower of Babel where everybody is correct and the same no matter their color, language, etc can't exist and racism'll just exist everywhere someway or the other. Just remember man, nothing is new under the sun and the sun goes way back. I'd like to know what you guys think about this, well you guys as in blacks living in America. Do you care about that or you see that truth as having nothing to do with what you are claiming? For example, imagine if the blacks had finally had their own land they could govern, like a black nation that America would've given them (in a perfect world) and the country is all run by descendants of black slaves. Wouldn't racism then be practiced inside of that land itself whereas blacks would naturally benefit blacks over whites that lived there? I mean how would racism ever be truly erased? It's practiced everywhere and old as fuck. I don't know but just like everything else I've lived in life, I just tell myself most of the time, c'est la vie, and see things one thing after the other. I know not all persons of a certain country are not all that way, and even among my own people, there's many I don't like. I just see every person as I meet them and that's that. It's really a hard subject coz it's the kind of thing where everybody has to look in their deeper most selves and realize that that beast is inside every one of us, sleeping somewhere, so how can you correct something like that with laws, different countries, you know. It's like, I understand why the people were confused after God made em speak different languages and created differences so they couldn't build a tower of babel. And that's still in effect today as we speak and try to find a 'solution' to racism when it's been practiced since god knows when..

do you believe all this shit you spat? Slavery had existed in Africa since ancient times, as it had in many other parts of the world. In Africa, slaves were often people captured in war. Others were people who sold themselves into slavery for food and shelter during drought or famine. Sometimes a society took slaves in order to increase its population. In time, many slaves were absorbed into their new societies.
The transatlantic slave trade was very different front African slavery. Africans were forced to leave their own societies and were shipped thousands of miles across the Atlantic. In the Americas, they faced a completely unfamiliar culture. . .

I'm not trying to convince anyone here with what I wrote. My people didn't own any slaves and were labour slaves themselves to the English up here. I just want to know what you think. What I mean is what do you think of the black slavery/racism practiced by arabs, from Morocco to Saudia Arabia and it's in their culture as in their story books like I said. It's like many people are just trying to categorize pepole or find easier ways to solve the problem of racism as if it were that easy. People think blacks in Africa all came from the same place, lived in the same conditions whereas there were no slave masters AND slaves, differences among the people themselves. Just look at the genocides in Rwanda, Soudan, just cause we hear about them today doesn't mean that shady shit didn't happen in that part of Africa back in the days and everybody was nice. Slavery existed everywhere and so did dirt and shady shit out of hate or owning. But about where you said blacks faced a completely unfamiliar culture, do you think being a slave and serving people like a SLAVE in Africa was easier to them just cause the person they fell to their knees for was black. You tihnk the guy didn't hit, beat up and see slaves as stock worth $ or matter? Just like in arab culture, man I'm reading these things about slaves (ALWAYS being black in these stories) and they're seen as nothing more slaves, when the guy's a bad guy they just cut him up or he only does slave stuff here and there with no big role. And that in children stories, stories that were told in public place for ages. So what about the blacks there? Man, I'm not trying to put down anybody here, I'm just asking myself questoins out loud instead of kissing ass blindly so you guys can speak on it. I'm concious of how blacks were/are dealed with in America and I'm def against that. I just want to know what you tihnk of the other things I spoke on without holding on to the trigger for easy blasting coz I spoke on unusual things we don,t hear about as if it's to weaken what blacks in America are fighting for... I'm all for justice, but seriously, what MAN can truly bring justice? you know?

About if centuries of racism weakened or strengthened blacks in America, wouldn't you guys instead say it makes you guys who you are today, with all the afro cultural background it has brought you and that is rightfully yours as music (gospel, blues, rnb, roots coming from singing in the fields), arts, but as well as the bad effects of poverty/underprivileged in that society which brought that afro pimp culture and all that shit but to survive even today? Like you can't have bad without the good and you can't have the good without the bad like with all things? It's just is? I mean, do you guys strictly see the bad things or you see some good out of it and see life as it is as a whole in the present? Coz I'm thinking for example, like with all people struggling wherever they're at, you notice that most things that come from the soul and that don't need $ start to be seen as treasures, just like music and to people who live off things like that not being materialistic because of the situation where they're in and people are happy like that. What do you think? Man, I'm just a curious guy haha I got a load of black friends, haitians, africans but I want to know what a true black living in everyday America thinks of these things because that history is yours and even though I live up here I haven't ever been to the US before myself to see what it is (I have traveled in many other countries though and lived in Morocco 6 years of my childhood). Like, aren't you proud of all that afro cultural background that's yours today exactly because of what your people went through or you see everything as disgusting and don't really appreciate everyday life one day at a time?
