I'm surprised you never noticed Nortenos being flamed up big time, & it's been going on for a long time.[/quote]Like I mentioned before, not in the way the Bloods did it in the 1980's, remember the movie Colors... check out the way those Bloods dressed, that's what I consider being "flamed up" but I guess everyone has their interpretation on it.MMRbkaRudog wrote:

That sounds like Varrio Catorce Locos, which I don't know if is around any more & I remember being from ESSJ or maybe SSSJ to. SMN sounds familiar, but also gives me the vibe of another town varrio.
VNV also gives off a kind of familiar name. What's that 1 stand for? VM sounds kind of like VMF. What is that 1?

It's funny what some people consider being flamed up tho! LOL Like when I would have just a red cap on, & fools would act like I was big time flamed!~J~ wrote:I'm surprised you never noticed Nortenos being flamed up big time, & it's been going on for a long time.MMRbkaRudog wrote:

I guess vcl was spread around. I've seen BML's claim ESSJ, but I think they've got members claiming NSSJ to. A varrio they claim is ESSJ, but I think part of it may go into NSSJ also. Have you heard of Varrio Milpitas LocoS? Milpas is right by NSSJ to.~J~ wrote:MMRbkaRudog wrote:Since when have we had all these in SSSJ? What is dssl in SJ? Yeah, he's a bit off on the Southside with regards to the Norte varrios.
I got around to with some more talking with a friend of mine with regards to the NS and other Downtown varrios and I was told that Varrio Catorce Locos was a NS varrio from around the Waston Park area and wasnt VML's also the NS varrio?
I remember Nortenos in the Southside of downtown in the mid 90's they were probably BGT or possibly 12St. I'm not really sure about where 12St's varrio wasbecause all of 12 Street was flooded with Nortenos back then from Northside Market to very close to Happy Hollow Park, also BGT and maybe 12St were both from or are from the Spartan/Keyes area of Southside downtown San Jose.
Correction... Twelve and E Julian St was VNH area not 12St's.

O ya, it seems like they were doing some things in Fontana. I was tripping of that Moreno valley 1 to, cuzz I wasn't sure if I read that guy was from some where else before also.yo foo wrote:But what do you think about all those dudes in Fontana being busted? That's like right in the middle of the Inland Empire near San Bernardino. Also they caught the other guy in Moreno Valley which is also in the Inland Empire right next to Riverside.

flamed up is like being a walking target sign, ALL red, red cap red shirt/pendleton/jacket, red khakis/pants, redchucks red laces, red whatever shoes and laces, ya know, youd think flamed up was self explanatory, wearing a lot of red.
same as being trued up, or blued up, blue cap blue whatever blue khakis jeans whatever, blue laces w/e
shit isnt hard to figure outbut for some people it is ha

Ok, I wasn't sure if you meant heard to toe. I consider wearing a lot of red, flamed up. I've still seen the head to toe, flamed up Nortenos. I wouldn't be surprised if you've never seen 1 tho.~J~ wrote:pistolslanga wrote:

Yeah, you'd be like a walking target all draped up in red or blue, not the smartest thing to do. I've yet to see a Norteno like those Bloods of the 80's in all red. I've seen Nortenos with a red hat/cap, red shirt and with a red belt and maybe some red trimming in any combo, but I guess there's Nortenos wearing red from head to toe but I've never seen it personally.
So you're staying in East Oakland now?

I've been reading most of this gigantic thread and thought I would chime in, I'm 36yrs old now, so I guess you can call me a Veterano or OG, or whatever.
I'm put in my work and happily retired.
I grew up in Sunnyvale and can remember how banging was back in the 80's and 90's. This thread has been mostly about San Jo but there there quite a few other hoods in other towns as well.
Biggest Sunnyvale gang which went back to the late 70's was V.V.S (Varrio Via Sol)
Our clicka was V.G.F st Varrio Grande Fir St. East Side S-Vale
Back in the day the main rivals of S-Vale was Mountain View (V.M.V) and WS Santa Clara (V.T.V Varrio TecatosVille) Alviso (BALS) Barrio Alviso Locos
Even Milpitas had a lil click called "Sunny Hills", I think.
But city on city and Hood on hood beef died down in the early 90's and a lot of the younger homies banned together against the Sureno incursion.
We used to go all over though, we kicked it in San Jo, Salas, Modesto, Mountain View, Santa Clara, we had homies all over and there weren't really
any Surenos, not even the "paisa" kind. The only ones we had heard about was Poco Way and that was it.
The hoods I remember in San Jo were: Lomas, CPL, East Side Hoods, BMLs, Palmas, Horseshoe, NSP (North Side Posse), Varrion Brown Pride, VSJ and to go back even farther there used to be the East Side Boys and San Jose Boys which were gangs of mixed homies, Chicano, Filipinos, etc.
Heres a piece of History for you, a long time ago I chillen with a homie from CPL and their original name was Latin Lords in the 70's.
Conversely, the Sunnyvale Gang that would become V.V.S was called EPPA. The leader of V.V.S , a homie named "Chuco" RIP, later became
president fo the South Bay chapter of the Dukes Car Club.
HWD in Hayward and FMT from Fremont were also some big varrios.
Gilas at one time I think was called Varrio 500 or something like that because they were 500 deep in Gilroy.

TVo wrote:Brown Pride was a quasi Norteno click, The used to wear brown panos but kicked it with nortenos. Definitely not Surenos.
Hell, way back in the day, homies used to wear panos of all colors. Some neighborhoods even had their own color. You would see old San Jo cholo with blue pendletons and old sureno cholos wearing red pendletons, this was in the 70's. Way before the Eme/NF war trickled down onto the Calles.
From what I understand NSP turned into VSJ, I guess some of the homies didn't like the "posse" name since it sound too hip hop or black, isn't that ironic with the way youngsters are nowadays. I think East Side Hoods changed name to something else as well.

pistolslanga wrote:but yeah, stayin flamed up or trued up, that shit was shit gangstas did back in the 70s-80s-90s, not so much anymore because back then gangstas used to just be foolish with their shit, not giving a fu-- if they got targeted by enemies, because theyd target em back, muthafukkas were acting like superman, but nowadays the whole "culture" is sort of dead, people actually care if they get shot at etc ya know? they arent as "hard" you could say, ive talked to some pirus who my cousin know from LPP, he was talking about youngsters nowadays arent built as hard as the OGs, meaning they arent gonna go all flamed because they scared of the cops etc...
but fools nowadays will be crips but wear a red belt and shit to catch someone slipping, or a blood throwin on some blue to catch a crip slipping.
no honor, loyalty, or respect in the game anymore, and as a new generation youngster i say that for my generation, and the newer generations. basically, fools dont bang like they used to.
