Albanian Mob reporting -- in country

Hey, this is Kevin Heldman, journalist -- I posted here before on this Albanian organized crime series I was writing and got really good response -- not to be too self righteous about this but this isn't really commercial, I don't make any money on hits -- just want to get the info to people who are genuinely interested.

Finally got a grant and was able to travel to Albania to report on this world -- this latest article just published is based on that reporting and on coverage of a related federal organized crime trial in New York City.

The article is pretty deep, I got good access on murder, drug trafficking, gangs, law enforcement, culture, social issues - from the place where this crime culture originates. This is part one -- action, on the ground, talking to the players involved. Part II coming soon gets deep into the real scope of the problem and deals with the serious syndicates in this world.
