Latin Kings special on HBO

I guess this is the place to put this thread. I was wondering if anyone else saw the special HBO had on today about the Latin Kings, focusing on King Tone. I don't know what it's called, and I only caught the end, but my biggest critique is that the entire thing (at least what I saw) was about King Tone and shit that happened on the East Coast. In reality, the Kings are based out of, and very prominent in, Chicago. I see no reason to entirely leave the Midwest out of the special. Also, there was a lot of focus on this chick Tone knocked up before he went away and her two daughters (one Tone's baby, born while he was in prison). While it's nice to get a human touch, I don't think they really accomplished that, and I think it was kind of a useless sidetracking.

I think that the reason they never focus on the original, real Almighty Latin King & Queen Nation from Chicago, is because they don't allow that kind of publicity, or light to come into their nation. The Kings on the East Coast wanna be some movie star gangsters, especially Tone. The ALKQN from Chicago are all about buisness, they'd never allow television camera's to follow members of the nation around, for any reason.

Near the end of the Latin Kings on HBO they showed some bloods from Los Angeles and BloodHound from 20s in Los Angeles was in New York and was featured on this program. He was shown when the NYPD were shown trying to tell the LKs to leave.

I saw this Kings special and i wasnt impressed at all. They focused on Tone and his personal issues for most of the video and it wasnt very imformative.(especially now that hes locked up). Thanks for the post i wonder if HBO is gonna air that again.

HBO used the Latin King's name to promote this show, yet what they aired was esentially King Tone's fight to stay out of jail. I learned very little regarding the Latin Kings during this show.

The LKs in the mid west would never have allowed anyone to video tape them conducting any type of buisness.In fact the mid west LKs that follow the chicago leadership/literature frown upon the East Coast Kings,and consider them renegades.At first they honored NYC but the leaders of the LKs in NYC broke away from the original LK leadership and today they dont even follow the same literature as the chicago based originals.

LKs started in chicago in the 1960s

side note:there are many Latin King areas where all or most of the LKs are mexican,some where they are all or mostly puerto rican.The LKs are a very,very,very,very huge gang and they are racially mixed.
