There are various factions of California-based Pinoy/Samoan gangs in Hawaii, I can vouch for that. All the other stuff though does sound funny. It's hard to picture gangbanging in the LOS sense in the island of "paradise", but believe it or not...they do gangbang out there in their own way. There won't be 30 gangbanging homicides a year, remember you can drive that whole island in a few hours, but it doesn't mean that gangs aren't there. Drugs calm people down from gangbanging, and they sure do have a serious drug problem there.

In 93 I went to Kauai to stay with familia. In the 80's my bro and my cousin went over with a landscaping job; stayed, got married etc.

In Kauai there aint no gangs like here. Honolulu's got the gangs I know that for a fact. In Kauai it's like small town style. You got northside (Hanalei to end of road & Kilauea),
eastside (Kapaa & Anahola),
centro (Hanamaulu & Lihue),
southside (Koloa & Poipu)
and westside (Waimea, Hanapepe & Kilohana)

Here's the thing; in each of these little towns are big, old familias that basically run things and call shots. Cuz they're families I wont mention names, gotta respect. In Hanapepe it's mainly Pinoy but the others old Hawaiian and "hapa" familias (mixed)
They run the day to day routine, small, nothing like here but anyone gets out of line; the pains the same. I was told the Yakuza oversees all the islands and nothing happens w/out their pass or tax.

It aint like here, I was there 4 yrs. I was treated like familia by the ones I met but they fear no one. Disrespect...and they scrap like warriors. They got my respect.

over here you gotta remember we got plenty of the crews, not necessarily gangs. Im from Aiea/Waimalu on Oahu, and i get cousins in Waipahu and all over the place, kaneohe, nanakuli, whatevers, but theres plenty of crews and hoods that just stick together, like you cant put a name on them. Theyre just the boys coming out from whatever city theyre claiming. I dont know if they still geffum, but my older cousin went to Roosevelt and he always tells me about the Papakolea guys, anybody know about that?

im from l.a. , but my family comes from papakolea as well as waimanalo
i remember my cousins from papakolea telling me the name of their ghood was called fas boys or fukk all slobs boys (crips). its real ghetto up in papakolea as well as waimanalo-alot of drug dealing and hustling going on around there.
kalihi is also a hot spot for gang activity, you got mayor wrights, kam 4, kpt wich is the sos hawaii chapter.
as well as the palolo valley bloods.

I never heard of any of the polynesian gangs other than KPT, SOS and the bloods form MWH. WSI is a Filipino gangs and they got bad blood with VB.
