AC (Asian Crips) - Vietnamese/Laotian/Cambodian from mostly Palolo area I think
KP (Korean Pride) - Korean more of a movement now than the actual name of a gang
VB (Viet Boys) - Vietnamese
BBB (Bad Boy Bisayan) - Filipino
BBI (Bad Boy Ilocano) - Filipino
WSI (West Side Islanders) - Mostly Filipino I think
HMobb - Samoan crip gang from Halawa
Waianae Boys - Hawaiian from Waianae
TCP (Tongan Crip Gang) - Tongan I think from Waipahu
Hamocide - Samoan from I think Waipahu
Frisco Boys - I think they're a Samoan gang who came down here to expand with selling ma'a and later batu and shit like that
9th Street Gang - Black gang in Kaimuki from Ohio or something, but they didn't wanna pay taxes and got outed
Palolo, Kam IV, MWH (Mayor Wright Housing) are all Blood housing projects
KPT (Kuhio Park Terrace) is a Crip housing project
ATB (All Town Boys) and Southside are supposedly newer gangs in town, but they're more like druggies in numbers than a gang
USO Family - Hawaii prison gang that was originall Samoan, hence 'uso,' but they get all kine ethnicities. Plenty Filipinos in USO Fam. It gives Hawaii prisoners an advantage when they're shipped to mainland prisons because of overcrowding here. Mostly in Arizona. Samoans will always be tight with other Samoans to some extent, but if you're like a Filipino guy don't expect shit from some Samoan guy you knew when you guys are out.
Most of these gangs kinda died out about ten years ago. They were more like what I would call real street gangs on a high school age level. Most gangs in Hawaii are organized crime and the more grimey, bitch work type shit will be carried out by the younger guys who pretty much come from street gangs or crews or sell dope or whatever.
Syndicate is bigger than most people think. It's not just like a Hawaiian mafia. It involves a lot of politics and under the carpet type shit. Politicians, HPD, prominent small business owners are all involved, even if they're not technically Syndicate members. I was told it was originally kinda meant for Hawaiian to stay in control in Hawaii and most members I think are part Hawaiian, but get local Japanese, Korean, Chinese, etc. Koreans, Vietnamese and Samoans are also big ethnic groups involved in crime. A lot of big time Korean/Vietnamese gangsters may own legitimate restaurants/small businesses/hostess bars/karaoke bars, etc. to funnel dirty money. Same with Syndicate. Most money comes from gamerooms (gambling--poker card games, machines, baccaurat, pipito, etc.) and drugs, which are also sold in gamerooms. Koreans used to run the dope game as it came from Korea originally. Now it comes from Mexico. Viets seem to have connections for cocaine/crack and run it in Chinatown. Viets also seem to have some connection with counterfeit money. Samoans usually serve as security for gamerooms or Korean/Vietnamese gangsters, or a lot of times Koreans and Samoans are partnered up, which goes way back to when KPT was first constructed. Streetwalkers/escorts have black pimps usually from I think Ohio in Chinatown and the Keys. Those guys have to pay Syndicate taxes. Some Viet/Samoan pimps. Massage Parlors are usually Korean establishments, but the actual owners are often local Japanese guys. I would consider mahus a gang too somewhat. I've seen Samoan mahus beat up straight Samoan guys. They always get dope. They have their own territory. And mahus are tight. They won't snitch. Bums have territory too lol.
