Drive-by gunfire follows slaying (Indianapolis)

A drive-by shooting Sunday at a Near-Westside home may have been retaliation for a homicide that happened hours earlier, Indianapolis police said.


Occupants of a van fired at least 14 shots into a home in the 1200 block of Burdsal Parkway at 6:18 p.m., police said. No one was hurt.
The home's occupant was next door at the time, police said.
Police say the gunfire was related to Sunday morning's shooting death of a man near the Phoenix Bar and Grill in the 3700 block fo West 16th Street.
Police say Grant Mayberry, 21, 700 block of Lynn Avenue, was shot several times in the abdomen. Mayberry died a short time later at Wishard Memorial Hospital.
