January 14 - Two Wichita teens are arrested after allegedly being involved in three separate drive-by shootings. It all started around 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning in the 700 block of North Nims. A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper was out on a car stop when someone drove by and fired shots in his direction.
A short time later there was a second drive-by in the 3200 block of North Fairview. Then there was a third drive-by shooting in the 2400 block of North Jackson. A vehicle with the same description was seen at all three incidents.
Two hours after the first shooting, a Sedgwick County deputy spotted the suspect vehicle and started following it. A chase begin and a weapon was seen being thrown out of the suspect's vehicle. The suspects were finally stopped and arrested at 15th and Waco.
The Wichita Police Department is investigating the case. Both teenage suspects are in police custody. No one was hurt in any of the three shootings. It's unclear whether the incidents were gang related.
