Police seek suspect in drive-by slaying

Police were seeking a suspect Friday in the shooting death of a Lawrenceville man near Gwinnett Place mall early Friday, authorities said.

Koreem Abdul Nicholson, 19, was shot and killed about 2:30 a.m. while in the parking lot of a BP gas station on Pleasant Hill Road at Venture Drive, said Officer Darren Moloney, police spokesman.

A 21-year-old woman, Selena Golden, also of Lawrenceville, was wounded by the gunfire but was not seriously injured, Moloney said. She was treated at Gwinnett Medical Center and released.

The parking lot was crowded at the time of the shooting, he said, but most of the witnesses fled before police arrived.

Moloney said investigators think Golden and Nicholson were casual acquaintances and that the gunman was targeting Nicholson because of a "history" between them.

Store manager Mark Tapp said he was called to the store about 3:30 a.m.

"My people were fine and weren't involved at all," he said. "They just heard the commotion and called authorities."

Police are asking anyone with information to call 770-513-5100 and ask for a homicide investigator, Moloney said.

According to the census bureau page Gwinnet County has a population of 675,000 people.

thats like the size of....... Harlem (the upper west and east side). Harlem is about 100 blocks but thats a whole city. Im not any type of demographic specialist but for an area that big thats alotta fuckin gangs

My personal opinion is that the list is a lot of law enforcement propaganda. I've never been through gwinnett county but I do know that it is an Atlanta suburb with a large population of white people. The page I looked at earlier put whites at 67%, blacks at 13%, Hispanics at 10%, and Asians at 7%. I'm not saying there aren't hard core gang members in Gwinnett County but I'm sure that more than one group on the list is a bunch of white kids gathering in a cul de sac and listening to the music. The way the internet works today I'm sure there are lone rangers who learned to spray a tag and just thought it would be a neat thing to do. I just don't see SFV Peckerwoods coming all the way to Atlanta but then again I could be wrong.

Flamin is from a small town not far from me that has a serious gang problem. Milledgeville has been making a lot of noise for many years when it comes to gang violence.

Gwinnett is a city on the outskirts of atlanta up 85 north. Its mostly mexican and asians. They have a little China Town out there and a spot called little Mexico. I'd have to say from what I see and what I here the Mexican gangs doing most the banging out there. You cant go anywhere without seeing gangs tagged all over Gwinnett. MS13 the feds on them tryin to get them deported back to El Sal. Its a lot of the 18th Street gang tags. Sur13. Its rare that you see black gang tags but if you goto the clubs in qwinnett you will see the RED bandannas and the B'z going up in the air. You will c them c'z going up too, as well as pitchforks. But take it for what its worth. I aint never stated that someone is REAL or Fake. Just posted info. You take it for what it worth.

I live here in Gwinnett,
damn most of the gangs here are just some bloods,crips,folk,latin kings,MS13,northside, and thats about it.
Now theirs like a whole mess of wannabes and difrrent sets,
but thats about it.

white people are not the majority here
hell if your gonna say who has the majority are the mexicans and blacks
but violence here with shootings isn't that bad
