Back in 1947 two of my uncles started a gang called the Puerto Rican Tigers in the South East section of the Bronx on Trinity Ave, Jackson Ave from 158th Street to 161st Street. It lasted about five years because many of the members went to the Korean War, but my uncles were Jimmy Gutierrez (1931 - 1976) (RIP) and my Uncle Fernando "Tito" Rodriguez (1932 - 1997) (RIP). Other members included Ralphy Penguin, Mario "Suicide" Prado and Ray Sanchez.
I would like to learn more about this gang if anyone out there knows.

Re: Puerto Rican Tigers in Bronx
I posted this 5 years ago, I guess this gang is too old school for anyone online to post about.

Being too old is not the problem. People of all ages seem to find a way to your site, just not really the forums. Although there are OGz on here.. on the alpine street page I was surprised on the party that was going on there.

Lived on Alpine 1942-43. Went to Castelar Elementary. My classmates were of Hispanic or Cantonese origins. As an boy of Italian roots from Chicago, it was a cultural experience. I was eventually accepted by my classmates of Hispanic roots who gave me my own placa.
Hopefully this will help guide them to this forum when they google.
